Cabango was standing off for both goals. All players are happy at scoring. I am talking about he team mental dynamic. They "felt disrespected apparently" and no doubt voiced their disgust in the changing room. Williams is at a loss as to why he cannot motivate the team. Why could Williams not motivate this team? Most of the senior professionals will be gone next season. Cabango, Darling, Allen, Pederson, Naughton, Fisher. [Post edited 22 Dec 16:16]

It is my belief that the team's motivation problem is related to these two players "ticking over". I am pleased Cullen is playing well. it has been a long time come at 25. He was a very promising 18 year old. He missed another headed chance on Saturday as he has not worked on his art and it shows. About being clueless it was you was it not? who professed both could sign pre contract with other English or Scottish league teams in January. Judgement. |

I am not interested if the players were upset or not. Cullen was not upset and signed a sustainable deal. If they do not plan on being here next season they must be moved on. I am suggesting Williams a cannot motivate players who are more concerned with Leeds utd or Birmingham getting promoted than Swansea getting into the top 6. They are both decent men. Neither will want to be sitting out the next seven months and both will want to leave on good terms. Saturday established the team with Cabango and Darling ticking over is not fit for purpose if the purpose is top 6. Time to blow up the bridge. [Post edited 22 Dec 15:34]

Cooper did it with Asoro. " I have told Joel he will not feature under me". he was gone shortly after, Swansea have just put in one of the poorest performances for some time and the club has hit a tipping point. The manager has hinted at mentality issues. I believe Cabango and Darling are part of the problem as they are ticking over until they can earn "proper money". The whole team were "ticking over" on Saturday. Cabango and Darling while doing OK are not irreplaceable and their replacement should have already been in the squad. In my opinion if Darling and Cabango are told they have played their last game they will get their agent to bring forward their plans 6 month with a fee to be paid. Naughton can finish his career at Swansea as centre back. If you have a problem you fix it. They should have gone in the Summer. I do not buy this continual "its the previous owners fault" line. Who's fault it is, is irrelevant. Coleman is and was calling the shots. [Post edited 22 Dec 15:14]

This is the " hoping for the best" option and undermines the manager and compromises long term planning. Bring in Josh Low and Natt Phillips on loans and tell them both their Swansea days are over. Pick up £2-3m. Stop fiddling about. Managers must manage not pray. |
| Forum Reply | The folly of selecting Grimes at 13:46 22 Dec 2024
Potter who was a good coach moved Grimes to right back and put Byers in his midfield place next to Fer who was the boss man. I do not ever recall Fulton featuring much under Potter who's team was fluid and slick. Fulton was too slow I suspect.. Fer left Grimes was put in the engine room and everything seemed to become less exciting. to watch culmination in Duff have the most dull team to watch in 20 years. [Post edited 22 Dec 13:48]

These guys will have to sign a new deal this week or the club will have take a take action and decisive action. I am of the opinion that having non committed players in the dressing room talking about money they can get elsewhere is bad for team morale and undermines the manager. Watson and co have not worked properly and given Williams options at center back. If I was in charge both players either sign by the end of this run of games or will be playing they last games from Swansea. The club will have to get 2-3 quality loans in or at least one permanent sharpish for January games. Could Fulton serves as CB? Williams does not seem to have made any provisions for the duo running down their deals. What has he been doing?. "Hoping for the best" ?. Both player cannot be allowed to play games with the club. It has been 8 years according to Johnson and Gove. "The easiest deal to do ever" and "off the shelf texts". Trump should not consider a deal based on political circumstances of that moment but 300 years of history. COVID is irrelevant another red herring. UK public were told to expect a deal within weeks. Where is the non Euro investment. I eos and 3000 jobs lad on bt y the Senedd boned by Brexit and replace by 90 maintenance jobs from a computer park. Where is the Brexit dividend? No more excuses. |

Fury lives Morcolme. I am surprised not the Isle of Man. £30m of his £60m purse will go to HMRC in tax unless he plans to give it to charity. I am grateful as a tax payer. |

The regions have been lazy. Shrinkage was not an option let alone a choice. What efforts were made to get those 14,000 free seats at the Swansea.com filled? The Irish gave done it. Shrinkage leads to extinction. |

I have not been following the trade deals stuff. I do remember the Brexiteers saying this US deal would be the easiest deal to do and would be done very quickly. Gove perhaps. Eight years later. .....Er no. |

The previous owners spent money on potential. Up and coming prospects. I accept it takes time but at least they should have energy and desire. They however gave older players calling the shots and the boring Grimes Fulton access behind and in front of them. They control the slow tedious tempo of filing around with jaring dot to dot football not thd slick smooth style of aDe Guzman who saw himself as a link man not a controller. Potter got this and he shoved Grimes to right back I recall. |

They have to learn from their mistakes just like HJ, MM and LD did back in the day. Potter had a possession team that was exciting with class performers like Fer pulling the strings. Cooper Martin and Duff have turned the team into a very boring outfit. Williams is buttering up the leaden footed Grimes and Fulton who is too slow and not athletic enough. Allen and Cullen are also feted like heroes while being pretty average. Get Abdullai in the team in midfield as a box to box player. He is not a Williams type player but perhaps Williams has to change. |

The older players need bench time. Duff had the most boring team in 20 years. |

Swansea have spent big money on potential remember?. The money was provided by people you call "shysters". Kukharevych, Patersen, Vipotnik, Eom, Njoe an On, Franco, Ronald, Key, Tymon. Williams needs to make changes and be braver. Swansea went head to head with Leeds but do not perform today. |

The club need to concentrate on best performance not the fans. Joe Allen was signed to keep the fans happy when he was a shot footballer well past his sell by date. Praised lavishly by Williams who continually butters up the older players who are not driving this team forward. Williams needs to look and develop the younger fresher players not older ones who not deliver. |

I am annoyed when I drive over Prince of Wales bridge (27x). I live with it and accept it and do not moan. |
