No agenda,
Just never been all in on Cook in the same way I've never been all in on Cifuentes, both of whom are big favourites on this Forum, fair enough, we see things differently,
Both could & should do better, hence my frustration,
No point berating the likes of Madsen, Andersen or Celar who are just clearly not physically cut out for this league,
Better to point out opportunities for improvement, I think Cook needs to show more courage on the ball. |

The very least of our problems, maybe, but most of the others are unfixable til January and rely on the further generosity of our owners
Its also probably one we can fix now rather than sitting on our hands and waiting for Colback to return, when it could be too late,
There's a decent player in Varane, a Centre Half stepping out with the ball the way Morrison is shaping up to and the way a prime Rob Dickie did, transforms this team.
As would a leader on the pitch exalting the likes of Varane, Madsen etc to show for the ball more. |

Fair enough, I always thought Dykes for his limitations made our team functional,
This team now is totally malfunctioning and if you press them you know they don't bring the ball up the middle, you know with right footed left backs they don't bring it up the left, you know they can't go long as they don't have a player with enough movement or aggression to hold the ball up,
This is why for me it is so important Cook steps up and brings Varane into the game with him,
We can't rely on Dunne or Colback whenever he returns to do it all,
Leadership & courage are more than goal line clearances as Morgan & Morrison are showing. |

Cook, as I've said from the off plays too many sideways passes to players in less favourable positions than he's in, maybe it's lack of confidence, maybe it's not as I see it self-preservation, but Morrison immediately stepped up to play and transition with the ball,
I also called out Cook very early for always berating others, particularly Kakay after another of his non return hospital balls,
Cooks a decent defender at this level, even if he always drops too deep for my liking and rarely steps out to pressure the opponent,
My criticism is very much about his lack of leadership and organisation of the team on the pitch, and that penalty fiasco is just another example of a lack of leadership from a vastly experienced player.
Cooks spaff @ Leeds was 0-1 and game over by my reckoning, Dunne does that and the roof comes in. |

Fair points but Cook committed a howler against Leeds, cost us the game, and it was ignored and not sure received a single mention on this forum,
Now it's Dunnes form that's tanking and he's been called out for digging out Smyth,
Wheras Cook has been digging out his team mates from Day 1 to likewise cover his own mistakes and barely a mention,
Dunne's trying to do too much, most touches of a Rs player in the oppositions box, taking the ball out of defence etc
Dunne's playing for the team, Cooks playing for himself, we need more from him, as seen by performance from Morrison on Saturday, back from injury, straight in and stepping up. |

Well we could mention the worse defensive error this season, Cooks pathetic shank for Leeds 1st goal, not sure I saw it mentioned in match report but could be wrong.
We have a fundamental problem in this team in moving the ball up the pitch,
Cook will only do if we're playing 10 men, we know Field doesn't have the close ball control or ability to turn tight with the ball,
And Varane who I like is a reactive player who when we're in possession seems to turn off and not offer an option,
This team has serious and fundamental flaws and we need our Captain to step up. |

Signs of distress are as we've seen before,
Dunne trying to do too much and taking too many risks for the benefit of the team, (nearly caught out a 2nd time trying to beat his man by the dug-out as no-one else was showing)
Cook dropping too deep and not stepping out to put pressure on his man as with the 1st goal, but beyond infuriating is him always giving up responsibility to bring the ball out, one square pass to Fox when he had more space nearly tipped me over the edge,
Not deflecting from Dunne's mistake but I've seen this cycle before, Cook needs to step up and lead this team. |

Yes, responded to question,
Absolutely no colour connotation in my use of the word pals, like Les as a bloke, just can't recall him ever holding Academy and it's abysmal output to account, especially with Paul Hall double jobbing, altho with hindsight understand now why they let Charlie Austin double job,
Also was a key factor in our losing someone who could have saved us from where we are heading, with Les, Ramsey etc now been moved on,
Reuben clearly backed the wrong horse,
Wasn't aware of Nourry appointing his pals, it just get worse. |

Yes that's Charlie, still has family in the Bush, they're Rangers, so likely still holds his affinity even after a long pro career, including as Gus Poyet's no 2. |

Agree 100% with your last sentence,
Who has the contacts & can hit the ground running quick enough to make use of the January transfer window?
Who most importantly understands the club (and knows its under-performing staff) well enough to do a cull should we be relegated?
When you're up against it, always go for the tried & tested option even if its an 8/10, rather than gambling looking for a 10/10, and hitting zero,
Our owners have fallen for too much patter from too many people for too long Ferdinand (even tho I like the bloke), Beale (understandable maybe), Nourry (completely inexplicable) etc,
Sometimes in life the hard truth is what you need and our owners were told it before by Warburton and they put their heads in the sand,
I was told they belatedly wised up to Ferdinand & his Academy cronies, after letting Warburton go, maybe they'll realise he had their best interests at heart, even if he was thee only one not blowing smoke up their backsides like everyone else (many posters including Northern will have noticed the carry on of Lee, Les etc around Reuben) |

A City & Guilds in Painting & Decorating and a UEFA Coaching Badge are not relevant experience for a role as a DoF.
Neither is a recently acquired Oxbridge degree or a short stint as a Recruitment Consultant.

The fans need to make their voice heard at the Stoke game,
Bcos if they force Cifuentes out, keep Nourry and don't bring in Warburton, can you imagine the mood in the Dressing Room and in the Stands? |
