For 18 month under Hill we wasted energy passing and moving in areas that had little or no effect on game, and nearly all our attacks where at a even slower pace than our possession passing. Very rarely did we trouble teams that set up solid and let us wear ourselves out for 45 minutes in neutral areas then hit us with pace and power in the second half, if anyone knows our to beat a Keith Hill side it'll be someone connected to Barnsley Football Club we've seen it that many times in the exact same way, we where always going to play the same way every time we play one of his teams. At Deepdale this season you got in front early on and managed to see it out adding a couple more with good all be it slow passing possession football which we did occasionally under Hill, but yesterday you where cashing the game for 80+ minutes only one winner in them circumstances against a Keith Hill side from what we've seen. Not bad for a club walking a tightrope with broken legs eh ? Loving the bitterness in this thread hahahahaha. Some of you lot are bigger bellends than your manager. |

The thing is though he was hearing what he wanted to hear, even now he's talking as though its every Barnsley fan that as their head up their own arse when in reality it's not, most of our lot knows we're punching above our weight and accept that, one or two percent of the fan base are living in could cookoo land just like at every club and thats the percentage of our fan base he choose to listen to, the one thing he forgets is wile he was at the club he was taking us down with a whipper because he'd no idea how to change things around because he thought he'd done everything he could when quite clearly he'd not, he was hard done Kieth doing nothing but moan constantly about budgets and he's still at it to this day, footballs played on the field not in the bank account and he forgot that, the players in brought in where good enough for the championship and he wasn't and the final outcome of the season proved that, if he'd have believed in himself and his squad he could have been the man to keep us up but he didn't and the only person that can be blamed for that his him, not his squad not the clubs bank balance, not the fans or other clubs budgets, HIM and only him, even now he's compering himself to RM and Wigan his ego is bigger the Yorkshire, the reason Wigan fans backed RM was the fact they could see he knew what he was doing with Hill we could see the team was good enough to stay up but he wasn't, and it proved it at the end of the season, [Post edited 20 Nov 2013 0:15]

Contrary to popular belief, we've been pretty decent all season, it's just the results that have been lacking, under Keith Hill we've played some really good football at times with most games have most of the of the ball 60odd% in most cases playing teams off the park along the way, but there was absolutely no end product what so ever, and far too much football in our own half just in front of the back 4, watching the team week in week out Barnsley fans could see potential in our players hill found some real gems in his time at oakwell, and quite a few of us had ideas as to what was going wrong and how to change it so as to start winning games. So when Hill attempted to continue to keep the faith with a system and tactics that where clearly not working it showed us all what a clueless pig headed half wit he is, this frustrated the fans and along with his constant moaning and lack of belief in the squad of players he had assembled, it was a long over due relief when he finally got his marching orders. What followed next off the field was an absolute embarrassment to the clubs and it's supporters, the board of directors proceeded to make public the targets we had in our sights to become our next manager, and made all our attempts to land a new first team boss common knowledge, when these highly publicised attempts failed it made the Club and its fans the laughing stock of the football league, it was now widely known that a football club that had been failing for 12 months on the field it was plain for all to see on a saturday as the results came in, but now everyone could see we where failing off the field too, and wile the fans of Barnsley Football Club was bracing themselves for relegation & ridicule, One man set about putting the wrongs right by getting the group of players together on the training ground and installing some self belief in to the team along with some guidance and vision, he's completely changed the tactics formation system and attitude of the team, injecting power pace movement and a strong work ethic into the squad, the whole club as a siege mentality about it again from the Players right down to the fans, our attendances are starting to pick up away from home, our performances are on the up we're playing some fantastic attacking football with a high tempo and outstanding work rate and all importantly getting the results we deserve, everyone one is pulling together and fighting for the club, we have our pride back, and all that as contributed towards the results we are now getting on a regular basis we now have a fighting chance of avoiding relegation, its going to be a long hard slog from now to the end of the season but we still have a slim chance of survival thanks to the turnaround since Hill left, however i do think we waited too long to get shut and we'll pay for it with our championship status come the end of the season, i'm a firm believer that Keith Hill lost the plot at Barnsley and his stubbornness as well as his failure to step back reassess things and take calculated risks cost the club and himself dear, i can't believe for one second that Flicker watched the games saw the problems and kept his mouth shut until Hill was sacked then set about putting things right, what i do believe is Keith Hill thought he knew best did not listen to his right hand man and paid for this mistake with his job, my comments may come across as though i am bitter towards Keith, But the fact of the matter is i'm grateful for his attempts at Barnsley and the fact he took a chance on us in the first place, he left the squad in a better state then he found it in my opinion, given all the wage bill trimming it had to do, and with a bit of luck and better judgement on his part at certain times he could have made a success of it at oakwell but it was not to be, so i wish him well in the rest of his career and i hope i turns things around ASAP good luck for the rest of the season |

He's a clueless idiot that's why we hate him, we've held on too long in sacking him and it'll see us relegated, but we'll be a lot closer to safety at the end then we would have been if we had kept hill, and if we'd have pushed him out a month or so earlier i think we would be in the championship again next season everyone who watched us could see the problems and his failings apart from him, As for punching above our weight, i think everyone knows that, we've got the lowest wage bill in the league and we're trying to run at a profit in a league full of teams spending money like it grows on trees |

Barnsley as ruined him, by the time he left the tykes he had become a clueless idiot, with truly shocking tactics and game plans, good luck if its hill because you'll need it |
| Forum Thread | Looks to me that Hill was always Barnsleys first choice at 17:22 30 May 2011
And once Hill knew that, after testing the water with wage & contract demands, it was always going to be hard to turn down a club that are willing to back him and give him what he wants. No matter what feelings he as towards Rochdale, he will be moving to a club with better players bigger crowds and a place in the Championship Barnsley are not a massive step up for Hill but it is a step up, without biting off more then he can chew. I think he is doing the right thing going to Barnsley and if he dose go to Barnsley he will be given the chance to prove himself and move on again You can't blame him for wanting to better himself |
