I'm not sure Samson is ready for the Championship yet!

He started both games for MKD at the JCS earlier in the season, so DC and NC must have seen something even though we scored four goals in those games.

On the club website it states that at half time it was 0-0. Is the final score a typo? Was it 4-0?

Interesting comment about Simpson. I don't know where the Football Yearbook gets the player's weights from, but it says that Simpson is an inch shorter than Taylor, but a stone lighter.

Agree. We've seen the Taylor/Tovide combination at home, so perhaps DC will start both Taylor and Simpson on Saturday, so that we can get ahead early and then shut up shop later in the game.

Simpson to be the catalyst for U's chemical reaction against the Sulphurites
at 00:38 22 Jan 2025

I thought we were slightly off the pace in the first half but controlled the second, and with better deliveries from the wings we probably should have won. But another point on the road and another clean sheet, so all in all a good night's work.

Up the U's!

I'll be surprised if Taylor starts with Simpson, however exciting that might be. I expect Simpson to come on once Lyle's done his shift. I'd like to see Thorn start for a change. I see that you have omitted Anderson from the squad. I'm not a fan but acknowledge that he did work hard at the end of Saturday's game.

Interesting. From the Wikipedia page, it says that he was offered a professional contract by Leicester Tigers in 2018 but decided to pursue a career in football.

From our website:- "Please note, wheelchair bays are situated in the home end - Harrogate ask away wheelchair supporters not to wear away colours."

What kind of place is the Harrogate stadium if they need to say that?

That's terrible Noah. From the TV coverage, it looked like there was some sort of fence behind the goal that must have obscured the view, especially when there was a corner.

For a young player he's already got a fairly lengthy history of injuries, so any club with an interest will no doubt look very carefully at that.

Hats off to Macey today - he put the last game firmly behind him and was decisive with the crosses when needed.

An abundance of very tall players. Our defence coped extremely well with all the crosses into the box.

Up the U's!

Am hoping that Thorn will come on for the ineffectual Anderson.

They do happen - an almost identical mistake by the Fulham keeper last night.

I forgot to mention that the support could be clearly heard on the Sky coverage, much more than their miserable lot.

The match report suggested Macey was fouled for the second goal, but the highlights don't suggest that. I still think he's a better keeper than Goodman (although Goodman seems to have improved) and overall he's had a good campaign so far. But when you make not one but two absolute howlers you can expect to feel the heat, as that's the lot of a keeper. Terrific second half save but only the blunders will be remembered.

The run without conceding can't be denied, but we've shipped 8 goals in the last 4 games so I would argue that's a worry. Combined with the fact that we don't convert nearly enough chances, it's left us potentially in another scrap at the bottom of the league. Maybe we do need a forward or two but who knows where they're going to come from.

I wonder if he lost concentration for the corner? Maybe he'd started to think about the shoot-out?
