St Pauli in Germany have left Twitter completely and now just using Bluesky.

Hopefully it starts something but I doubt it. St Pauli are always a bit different.

Surely there's some software out that that can tap into Twitter, Bluesky and Threads so that the club just needs to post something once and it appears on all 3.

Yeah Twitter has become the same, because certain people with the blue tickare getting paid now there's just so much nonsense put on there to promote engagement. Baited questions to get people clicking.

I get tonnes of unwanted stuff on Twitter, most comments I see on topics are Only Fans models completely unrelated to the subject matter commenting for engagement. The only followers/engagement I receive on Twitter are from porn bots. I commented something generic on an authors post about a book he released and I have about 20 likes on this comment, you click on their profiles and every single one of them is a bot.

I am all for free speech but Twitter is too much, there have been numerous examples such as one of the Tate brothers repeatedly calling someone the N word yet there are no consequences. It's not free speech, it's hate speech.

How are "so-called Liberal regimes" trying to shut down free speech in the Western world? It's funny how people on the right talk about this kind of stuff but then they are happy for books to be banned because it mentions something they don't agree with.

I've been wanting to leave Twitter for a while now, I tried Mastodon when the initial wave of people started trying to leave Twitter but it never really seemed to take off so I stopped using it.

The only reason I use Twitter is to see what's happening in the world, see news as it's happening and see updates from QPR. I never use it to post. It's overrun with fake accounts and bots farming for clicks. I will give Bluesky a go, hopefully it can replace Twitter because I hate giving Musk money from seeing the terrible adverts on the platform.

For anyone that has not seen the latest Led By Donkeys video on Musk/Twitter:

QPR HOME FORM FOR LAST TWO YEARS
at 14:30 5 Nov 2024

It's strange how bad our home form is considering many people historically view it as a tough place to visit. You would think with the standing area in lower loft now and with an improved atmosphere it would somehow help the players. There was also that stat a little while ago that we went a really long time without scoring a goal shooting towards the loft.

Not such a crazy idea. He probably still has a house in West London so would be convenient for him. We just need a big financial backer to get him on board.

Found another clip of them, they signed a 2 year contract with the club.

Where’s the best place to find cheap flights
at 13:36 17 Oct 2024

I've tried many times to use VPN to get cheaper flights but it never seems to work for me. Always seems to be the exact same price no matter what country I check.

But yes as someone else said, if you are not looking at booking the flight right away use incognito mode. Apparently it helps with not raising the prices before you decide to then buy.

Florida is getting a pasting!!

Isn't usually always that part of America that gets hit with the big hurricanes? Kamala has been engineering hurricanes for a long time then.

Trump voters are the kind that would stay behind despite being told to evacuate though so there might be some truth in it.

I was just looking at prices for this match.

For general admission you are looking at a cost of 13p
For the highest price admission (which is above a tier of VIP) you are looking at a cost of £5.50.

I know the wages are not that high there but surely some people can afford 13p tickets?

I've been to the US three times. On two of those occasions I experienced the worst weather I've ever seen. The worst was in Chicago, I was eating in a restaurant and after a while everyone in the restaurant had to take shelter in the kitchen, there were tornado sirens going off, the city ended getting quite flooded. The other time I was in a fast food restaurant somewhere in the Mid West, it rained so hard in a very short period of time that within 5-10 minutes it was ankle deep water inside the restaurant.

The Yanks like to say "it always rains in England" as a lazy stereotype, it might be somewhat true but at least our weather doesn't try to kill us (as much).

I'm perfectly happy being in a country where it doesn't get too cold, it doesn't get too hot and it doesn't try to blow my house down. We have bland weather (for now) and that's fine with me.

Line up of QPRs worst ever eleven

Sean Goss, wow, now there's a name I thought I forgot.

I can't believe the club paid £500k for a player that had never made a senior appearance before.

Conceding Worldies - Can we stop this please ???
at 15:20 5 Oct 2024

I mean, 2 of the goals on Tuesday night were the result of deflections that could have gone anywhere but happened to land to a player with a great shooting opportunity. There's not much you can do to prevent that.

At the same time, I am not sure how we got a penalty on Tuesday night.

That game could have gone either way. Hull happened to lose 4-0 today.

Armstrong just won player of the month for Bristol City. I still think he is more likely to end up a National League South player but he's been playing well so far.

I can't remember what game or what commentary team it was in the last couple of weeks but they were calling him Michael Frey. It threw me off because I thought he was Michi.

Berlin
at 10:11 17 Sep 2024

I've been many many times to Berlin, unfortunately I don't really have any proper recommendations apart from just walk around and see the sights, eat a döner (pronounced dooner, not dona) kebab and also get a currywurst.

Döner and currywurst are both said to originate in Berlin. The most famous places you can try are Mustafa's Gemüse Kebap https://maps.app.goo.gl/fyCDLfncVPxGizYi6 (likely to wait up to an hour) and Curry 36 https://maps.app.goo.gl/72h8UBfjgPajpSsdA which are dotted around Berlin but there is also one next to Mustafa's so you could kill two birds with one stone there.

Personally I hope they face little to no punishment.

I quite enjoy how they stop Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United winning anything. The fans of those clubs are insufferable.

Edit: I just realised I forgot Chelsea but they are so off from winning anything these days anyway.
