Re the video and a Warnocks promotion year - player for player, would any of this years crop replace their 2010/11 counterpart? Not for me. |

Nice one Clive. We'd planned a weekend of it: Racing at Haydock Elvis Costello at the O2 Manchester Meet up with City mates pre game, then the Maine event: Rangers at City Perfectly planned, until Micks Mum was taken ill and he couldn't travel with us. No winners at Haydock, great Elvis gig, night on canal street ( or as local legend has it "anal treet" as people nick the C and the S. Good news, Mick can Akers the game and travels up with you lot. More good news, meet up with City mates and have good chat and plenty of beer. Get to ground early. Bad news - Three Course Andy decides to lose his match ticket between the pub and the ground - idiot! Quick dash to the box office, proof of a missing ticket in a range of four - replacement please? Nope, "too near kick off" So, we take a stroll around to the away entrance and ask the 1st R's fan we see if hey have a spare Good news "yes, you can have it for face value as long as you don't sell it on" Whoever you are, you made TCA a very happy man - many many thanks. The rest as they say is history See you next year, Ian |

Mel We'd normally debate this in a pub, but as its the close season..... I agree with some of what you say - 2 things I disagree on: A line should be drawn under his past exploits - do we feel the same if Marlon King were to sign? I think not! Mackie a no trick pony - again I'm not sure. More talented players. absolutely. Less frustrating players? Undoubtedly But, think of the goal at derby away (sorry Clive) that gave the team belief, think of the goals against Liverpool and at man city - plus the others in between. This guy has epitomised the recent rangers spirit in the way many players have done before - early Rowlands, Ainsworth (you can name plenty more than I can) I think he deserves more credit than some of our fans give him and the club obviously feel the same - many non-R's fans I know would love him at their club Anyway, see you soon, Ian |

God, that tackle on Sir Les was horrific - but (before your time i think Clive, maguires on Danny Thomas was worse - now I've never seen this tackle since live at the game, but if it's as bad as I remember then it was truly horrific. Back to the point: Sherwood done Ferdinand - end of. I'm getting on, but also seem to think we played blackburn away 1st game of the season after they won the championship - with Shearer conning a pen - could be wrong Btw - did you never see Plummer? |

Norf.... Nice write up.....Kieran Lee ?? I remember being told he was so good in training all the other pros stood and watched... Oldham now I believe I hope the new signings will also reignite the earlier ones - Barton, Young, SWP have all disappointed so far (back on my hobby horse of Young not being defensively astute) and also hope they mean the end of "Gabby" in a hooped shirt. Interesting times |

Great memories Clive. At 0-4 at half time, it sounds ridiculous but we hadn't been overly outplayed - dons tin hat. I argued with a mate of mine on way home as he said he'd of preferred a 1 nil win! My argument was that we'd still be talking about 5-5 in many years to come:) I think we had a goal disallowed at 4-5 - anyone know for sure? Great memories of the 0-2 midweek win in 86 - 4 of us travelled up in the late Steve Edwards car. Queueing for tickets outside the ground and Jack Charlton walks to the front - Steve shouts out for him to get to the back of the queue - we nearly got lynched! Anyway - 0-2 win then stayed in Whitley bay Wednesday night, drove to Blackpool for thurs/fri and then stopped at Everton on way back for a 0-0 on the Saturday - it was some trip :) Can't wait for monday |
