1) We don't sign enough good players of any description, so leaving current players go is always a risk. 2) We're not signing enough players that suit Cifuentes' supposed preferred style - centre-backs too slow, centre-mids not comfortable on the ball, forwards too slow to press etc. 3) We're not signing enough players suited to the Championship - goalie who's terrible in the air, midfielders who don't like to tackle etc
So, in short, players leaving for free is only part of the problem, the bigger part is replacing them.
Leaving style aside, we've been playing very poorly a lot recently.
While the points are welcome, I've never agreed with the "winning while playing poorly is the sign of a good team". It's not. It's the sign of a poor team that's got lucky.
So I want to see us play well. Press, tackle, head, and pass to someone you know.
