| Your Report | Southampton v Newcastle United Your Report added by SanMarco at 17:50:12 Another day, another defeat and another nonsense from VAR. I wonder how long it would take if the error wasn't 'clear and obvious' - half an hour. There is a growing "It wasn't Martin's fault" brigade. (Hi Bowlercow!) While it is true that results haven't improved and we were doomed from the start thanks to SR it musn't be forgotten that it was RM's idiocy that screwed confidence out of the players and made us a laughing stock. The Brentford fiasco aside we aren't laughable now - we just aren't that good. If we don't get to 11 points SR and Martin will be the culprits. Big match next week in our quest to get to 11... |
| Your Report | Southampton v Newcastle United Your Report added by Monksway at 14:42:10 Only three players in the starting eleven weren't in the team last year. One of these Onuachu was on loan, the other two, Fernandes and Uguchukwu were our best players. Tells it's own story week after week. Fourth best team in Championship equals worst team in the Premier League regardless of manager or tactics. Wood, Taylor, Sugawara, Edwards, Fraser, Lallana, Downes, Archer, Diaz have contributed little or nothing. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Newcastle United Your Report added by Block8 at 11:25:43 With three of our only four genuine PL quality players injured we were always going to struggle in this game. We were very poor in transition, possibly due to a complete lack of pace and flair in team selection and still trying to move away from the style introduced by RM. Despite a large squad his choice is limited. We are very weak in the areas that really matter CM and up front and annoyingly I watched Archer pull out of three 50/50 challenges, which just pee'd me off a bit more. There is a need to, not only reduce the size of the squad but also dispose of all those that will not thrive in the PL, if we are lucky enough to come back up, we need to try to be better prepared, squad wise, for this. At the stadium I didn't think it was a pen but after MOD this morning can see that it probably was, although the fact it took so long to review it would question whether it was a clear and obvious error? I've never been a fan of VAR and have always believed it was introduced for the benefit of the broadcasting companies and offers nothing for the stadium viewer and would love to see it binned! |
| Your Report | Queens Park Rangers v Sheffield Wednesday Your Report added by WestonsuperR at 07:45:12 Lots of mentions of us being tired, we played Tuesday Sheff W played a day later, we both have similar first team squad size. Beaten by the better side. Not sure our recent results are a fair reflection of our performances we have been competitive but definitely not as dominate as our results suggest, I look forward to and end of season midtable mediocrity. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Newcastle United Your Report added by SaintPaulVW at 22:20:12 Too many players just going through the motions, overall result was fair enough. We went ahead, played well in patches but lackluster defending and 2 clinical strikes did for us. Unfortunately, it was a penalty. However Fernandes was onside. Be glad to see the back of VAR- if a clear and obvious error takes 5 minutes to determine, then I would suggest it's neither clear nor obvious. |

| Your Report | Southampton v Newcastle United Your Report added by AmericanSaint at 21:16:17 VAR is a joke. I thought that unless there is over ridding evidence, the on field REF's call stands. Obviously not when it comes to us. Plus the ref was again horrible (not as bad as Oliver but close). Even the commentators thought it wasnt a penalty. 2nd goal was pure quality in the build up and 3rd was all Bendarek's fault. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Newcastle United Your Report added by Jellybaby at 19:57:05 Newcastle have better players, we are lacking confidence, still trying to get up to fitness levels, exactly what happened was to be expected. We actually scored a good goal. McCarthy had a good game. I like Fernandez, It wasn't another 4 or 5 goal drubbing. Those are the positives. It is what it is. |
| Your Report | Queens Park Rangers v Sheffield Wednesday Your Report added by dachiltern at 19:23:53 We’ve had a great run but this was just a game too far, we looked tired and laboured. Outmuscled by an opposition who performed well and mugged the ref off far too many times. Referee was generally poor with BOTH sets of fans suggesting he didn’t know law and didn’t impress this old boy either. Que sera, move on to Millwall. |

| Your Report | Queens Park Rangers v Sheffield Wednesday Your Report added by Geoff78 at 19:06:29 We've overperformed in our recent run, had some luck and got away with some games we didn't look like winning. But we have played well, shown energy and determination, tackled and pressed well and taken chances. Today was poor, most of those good things absent. We were slow, unimaginative, passed the ball around aimlessly at the back like the bad old days, didn't press or put in the Itackles. We looked tired though in his post-match comments Marti says we weren't. Mmmm. Illy certainly didn't get a boost from his new contract. We were losing control at the end of the first half when Nardi had to make 2 good saves, but we hardly got a look in in the second. It was crying out for change before the 60th minute, but Marti waited until the 70th to make a triple substitution. I don't like triple subs (but what do I know) as it feels it's a big disruption to the formation and patterns of play. In fact none of those subs made much difference though Colback showed some touches. Like everyone else I love Marti, but he is often slow with the subs. We also mustn't take away from the fact that Wednesday were well organised, took their chances well and used the full menu of shithousery when required. They deserved the win. Perhaps we were getting complacent and this wil serve as a wake up. Nardi MOTM. Not really anyone else who comes near. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Newcastle United Your Report added by Bowlercow at 18:12:03 We are a totally disorganised team and no better now than when RM was in charge At least then you knew the system he was trying to use even if we didn't have the players for it Now we are just a rabble out for a kick about on a Saturday afternoon No game plan no organisation no tactics Utterly useless coaching |
