We've overperformed in our recent run, had some luck and got away with some games we didn't look like winning. But we have played well, shown energy and determination, tackled and pressed well and taken chances.
Today was poor, most of those good things absent. We were slow, unimaginative, passed the ball around aimlessly at the back like the bad old days, didn't press or put in the Itackles. We looked tired though in his post-match comments Marti says we weren't. Mmmm. Illy certainly didn't get a boost from his new contract.
We were losing control at the end of the first half when Nardi had to make 2 good saves, but we hardly got a look in in the second. It was crying out for change before the 60th minute, but Marti waited until the 70th to make a triple substitution. I don't like triple subs (but what do I know) as it feels it's a big disruption to the formation and patterns of play. In fact none of those subs made much difference though Colback showed some touches. Like everyone else I love Marti, but he is often slow with the subs.
We also mustn't take away from the fact that Wednesday were well organised, took their chances well and used the full menu of shithousery when required. They deserved the win.
Perhaps we were getting complacent and this wil serve as a wake up. Nardi MOTM. Not really anyone else who comes near.

One of those games that could have gone either way but R's certainly didn't shown much penetration with an obvious lack of pace through the middle. Watching the first goal on Sky, I felt Nardi could have done more.

We’ve had a great run but this was just a game too far, we looked tired and laboured.
Outmuscled by an opposition who performed well and mugged the ref off far too many times.
Referee was generally poor with BOTH sets of fans suggesting he didn’t know law and didn’t impress this old boy either.
Que sera, move on to Millwall.

Lots of mentions of us being tired, we played Tuesday Sheff W played a day later, we both have similar first team squad size. Beaten by the better side.
Not sure our recent results are a fair reflection of our performances we have been competitive but definitely not as dominate as our results suggest, I look forward to and end of season midtable mediocrity.

Tired? If so, maybe it is the long trips involved in recent games. Plymouth, Hull. They don't come much worse.
