Are all Livestreams blocked? 18:57 - Aug 24 with 32603 viewsFieryJack

Have only just noticed that the FirstRow website is now blocked.

Was hoping to watch a live stream of the game against Spurs tomorrow.

I'm not a season ticket holder and live in the north of England, so I depend upon live streams to watch the Swans.

Does anyone know of any other reliable sites I might use?

Thanks for all the tips.

AnotherJack - I'm with Virgin Media, and they have defo blocked FirstRow. It could be that other internet providers, such as your own, haven't done so (yet!).

Be careful when viewing these sites this season, your service providers will be logging IP addresses who use them and you can expect at least a warning letter and possible further problems.

Yes be careful with some of these sites, last week I experienced "lock down" when watching on VIP Sports they demanded money and said that they had noted that I was watching the game. Got out by taking the battery out quickly and not tuning in again, so be aware.

That sounds like a scam. No organisation can demand money over the internet like that. They'd have to go through the courts.

As far as I'm aware there's not a single individual in the history of the world who has been successfully prosecuted for watching football online. In fact, I'm not sure it's even illegal. It's probably illegal for the individual at the other side to broadcast it on the internet in the first place though.

Thanks for the tip. Only yesterday I rehoused my Mythtv server into a dedicated HTPC case and stuck xbmc on as the frontend with full remote control.

I'm very happy with it and will check out the Sportsdevil add-on you mentioned, however, I am pretty sure that that this works by aggregating various streams.

First of all this will not work as well for live sports as other TV content since there are no legit sources. Secondly to the extent that aherm "unofficial" streams are being blocked by ISPs, that will also cut off any xbmc add-ons that rely on them; these are after all merely aggregators.

That aside a media server is a nice thing to have.

It's about time the EU did something useful and allow everybody living in the EU to watch what they want. This national pricing model for TV licensing and all the restrictions that go with it should be banned.

"Ted Shapiro, partner at media law firm Wiggin, says: "When watching sport from an illegal source, there is a good possibility that the courts would find that illegal. But it's something that is still being adjudicated."

He says although the Premier League is unlikely to go after individuals, it will continue to crack down on companies that illegally stream its matches."

mentioned xbmc on the old forum in the everything else thread but with no response, it is software that allows you to watch films,tv,live footy etc there are plenty of tutorial videos on youtube showing how to get it going. the sportsdevil addon has wizi, firstrow etc with all the links but no annoying ads, also navi-x addon has uktv and sports channels. takes a bit of sorting to get started(for me anyway) but a handy bit of kit

Blocked?! I hope not... In Denmark, todays game will be shown by 3+ and if the commentators are Per Friman and Carsten Werge aka Laurel & Hardy... then I might look for a stream. Compared to their drivel I would prefer some random arabic commentator.

The first link that I try

Is it simply a case of downloading to Pc and using it from there or do you need external kit to make it work?

I just can't understand why, bearing in mind that the match is available for you to watch anyway, Sky don't sell it to people instead.

A landlord told me that he would have no hesitation in paying [say £100] for the match, and I said that I would have no hesitation in paying him [say £3] to watch it in his pub.

If Sky wanted to sell the match to Joe Punter to view in his home [say £10], I would pay that too. I'd easily get 3 mates to share the cost.

They could ask the clubs whether or not they could sell home games, in our case the club wouldn't lose any ticket revenue if our home games were televised.

Sky could also only make our games available in a specific geographical area too (if that matters).
