The Kinnear situation and if things deteriorate you would think Pardew would walk, but his recent 8 year deal may be the incentive for him not to and to wait until he is pushed and then get a huge pay-out. Equally Ashley will want him to go of his own accord. Cannot really understand what Ashley was thinking of putting Kinnear there. | | | |

there is no way he would walk. I recon the only reason ashley stuck kinnear in his face was to try to get him to quit. Even if he is only on £1 million a year, that is some huge pay out. If I was pards I would keep my nose ultra clean, kiss ashley's arse, do everything he says and tug my forelock in his presence. Then I would deliberately set out my team selection to lose and wait for the push and the big cheque.
Which is precisely why unconditional and long contracts are ludicrous. It would perversely incentivise one to want the team to lose. Unless there was an attainment target... which would have to come at a cost though. | |
