agree there are plenty of good strikers around ,its great to be ambitious but i just feel were aiming TOO high and we are wasting precious time.

We didn't 'miss' Hooper and Remy, we didn't bid for Hooper and Remy. Every time a player signs for a club we haven't 'missed' them... Next it'll be we 'missed Suarez, Rooney and Bale! You need to relax a bit, remember when every transfer window we were afraid that our best players would be snapped up by big clubs and were? Bale, Beattie, Bridge, Crouch, Walcott, Richards, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Surman, Jones we had years of if. - Meaning Champions league or challenging. Spurs were in that bracket but...no move.
That was his agent talking as usual a lot of hype im sure but it seems to ring true.
The money in Europe and EPL will be massive in comparison to Brazil but maybe he is calm about missing out on a move.
Damiao and his agent are iether just hanging on or he just doesn't fancy the move away from home.
Anyway he could treat any move as a stepping stone if you want to be cynical about it.
Is there a thing with the Brazil coach about having so many home based players in the national squad?
If its possible and we can do it Cortese will get him at the end of the window but there must be cheaper alternatives.

I would rather we took our time and made the right signings, rather than sign anyone for the sake of it, just to appease the fans. Also, if clubs know we're desperate to sign a striker, then the price will increase, so lets just bide our time and what we currently have is enough to build on last season, plus we still have 4 weeks to get 1 or 2 more in (if the right players are available at the right price).
