Clearly, Hilly wasn't going to spend club funds on getting JK fit, so IF he's training with bury he could be taking advantage of their "come and have a trial" offer to all and sundry as a means of gaining fitness

I'm convinced that the JK and bURY rumours are a figment of someone's fertile imagination.
As far as we have been led to believe, JK has always been honest and up front with Keith Hill about the reasons he wants to leave Spotland. KH has said he fully understands the concerns and the reasons JK has given.
We were told that the decision was a 'family based' dilemma and that the travelling distance was a serious issue for him, especially as he now has a youngster. There is nothing to suggest that there was any other reason that he didn't sign.
Therefore, I don't believe he would then jump from us to Giggle Lane at the earliest opportunity, regardless of the offer.

Perhaps out of respect JK is letting his Dale contract end before announcing his move to Pools.
OR
He is hoping Bradford come in at the last minute.
OR
Pools have got wind of him waiting for Bradford (who may not want him) and withdrawn the offer, Hilly has signed a replacement in Lund and has also withdrawn the offer.
I would say i'm 90% sure it will be the first option! I'm sure York, Barnsley or even his old club Middlesboro would let him do pre-season with them if needed. | |

I really don't think he will sign for us tho.
I liked him years ago when he was on loan from m/borough.
There are 5 or 6 players training with us that are not on trial just keeping fit.
I won't lie I was also very happy grimes signed and that came out of nowhere.
If we keep harrad I think him and grimes will be a decent front pairing in league2.

Davies is rumoured to be signing for Preston. I'm not sure he and the others would want to drop to L2 level, except Whittaker who always seemed to play well against Dale.
Are the club able to guarantee anyone who signs will be paid through to next June?
Btw, I don't see the logic of JK, if he wants to travel less, coming all the way to the Giggle to train. It is odd he's not gone to Bradford, where Parkinson seems in no hurry to strengthen the squad. But if Jason gets stranded, I've no doubt he could return to Darlo. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]
