I for one am happy with this. I know some people won't like it (od) but I think beech will do a good job and the team sounds good to me

Dan Fradley's role is an intriguing one.

Just from reading about the Fradley job it sounds like he'll analyze where things are going right/wrong in training/games and see where certain players need improving or changing their training schedule etc?

Richard Ashcroft's a lucky man.

"We’ve got to make sure that there’s matchday success, development success and financial success. In order to do that there has got be a team behind the team so we can utilise every facet that we’ve got at this Football Club.”

That sounds like he wants accountability for the commercial and other off field activities as well. Go Hilly!

Very sensible appointment imho. Chris Beech has produced 3 youth squads all of whom have enjoyed considerable success. His short time as caretaker Manager was at a very difficult time.

I bet your glad your not On Your Own in recognising that name from elsewhere.

I wonder if he'll say to Dave Sweetmore: "This Is Music!"

Reading that announcement about the backroom staff and how its all gonna pan out goes to show just how stuck in the darkages coleman/bell methods really are....

Ashcroft is a former coach within the school of excellence

That was the trouble....they did n't have any methods or plans.

No I am not happy with having Beech around the first team, it was always going to happen though. I just have to trust Hill and his judgment, but I guess we simply couldn't afford to bring in a new number two.

Life is a game of fate.

Great to see us building to develop many manager dont do this as they hrave said they wont be there when it comes to fruition so why do it, In Hill we trust

then you're not trusting Hill's judgement because you're citing finance as the reason behind this appointment. Unfortunately, Hill's first choice for assistant is doing a cracking job at Barnsley. He'll be delighted with Beech as assistant or otherwise he wouldn't have chosen him because let's face it, what Hill wants, Hill gets.

No i trust that Hill wants to work with Beech, because as you said, even if we couldn't have afforded to hire another, if Hill did not want to work with Beech long term he wouldn't have been given that role.

Life is a game of fate.

Beech working under Hill guidence for a few seasons is just what he needs......
The experience may just be the making of beech....

It's not just about working under guidance though.

The last thing Hill would want is a "yes" man as his number two. He'd want someone capable of independent thought and judgement - like Flicker.

Whatever else Beech is, I'd say he's his own man. It probably didn't help him when he was appointed caretaker because he could see how so much had gone wrong and as it happened, he took it in the neck but didn't complain when Coleman/Bell came in, just got on with his role. He will have learned from that.

another aspect of Beech's involvement with the first team is the number of scholars getting pro deals. It can only help the 4 new pros with their transition to have the man who brought them through there on a day to day basis.

It is ridiculous to judge Beech's management potential on a month long caretaker spell following the disaster that was Steve Eyre.

Let's hope he will echo Beech's achievements.

Completely agree, it even took Hill a while to sort things out second time round.

Well it is all we have to go on to be fair, we shouldn't be backing him based on what he might be as a manager in the future, under Hills tutelage. We were much worse than under Eyre in the 7 games he was in charge.

Life is a game of fate.
