I really liked SOD and his understated approach.
That said, you have the January window coming up and I suppose if you own the club, you need total confidence that your manager is going to sign decent players who can get the team up and be an asset in Skyland. That might have been a factor.

It's all well and good saying that but why appoint O'Driscoll in the first place then? He was always going to have a bit less managerial pull in the transfer market than other 'big name' managers. Keane's been out of work for a while - if he's their man now then he should have been at the start of the season. To sack OD in the position they're in and after a resounding win against one of their promotion rivals is a disgrace. | |

They appointed him because they took over in June/July and had to appoint someone to take over from Cotterill. He had been assistant to SC at the City Ground and the players still there in the close season recommended him.
Sacking somebody after a win/loss is irrelevant. If they'd done it last week after the spineless 2-0 defeat to Watford, maybe it wouldn't have caused as much of a fuss because, let's face it, fans are a fickle bunch. Just witness the reaction on here after last Friday's result.
