Baz, I'll leave that to do that on your own this time!!!

Poll: Do you enjoy NorthermRs presser posts, and wish to see them every week?

It will be exactly the same site, we're not moving, it will just look different. You'll log on one day and it will all be shiny and new, none of it will work initially, and everybody will moan. twtd.co.uk, have a look around, then you'll be prepared.

I fear change.

Although its basically the same with a few differences that meet the tech requests people have mentioned already.

Love how we need to let people know so early in advance to give them time to 'process the change'

On twtd.co.uk they have a 'Click if you don't like this thread' button.

Interesting.

Or not.

Probably not.

I shall not visit elsewhere to see, I shall logon and await the shock and start complaining and asking why we weren't warned about this. At my age, I'm entitled to do that.

Have you considered appointing a couple of additional moderators? Seems to me there are some sensible and respected posters around here who might be prepared to do the job Not suggesting for a minute you’re doing anything but a good job or that it’s too big a task for one person but it might lessen the burden a bit.

We used to have six back in the Rivals days, but it was a bit wild back then.
The moderation doesn't take a lot of time because on the whole we have a good bunch. Appointing more moderators would mean the board would be moderated more, and that's not a good thing. Nothing worse online than an over-moderated message board.

You may have no alternative but to appoint Neil as your deputy moderator once you start working for QPR fulltime

The "Members Online" ticker is clearly not right. It must register users whose computers keep them logged on even when they've gone off to do internet banking or watching porn. For example now it says there are 14 members online, but not one has responded to my thought-provoking observation about inter-planetary communication speeds.

I suspect that like me, those that read the post, didn't have a scooby on what you were on about.

I think most posters on here are QPR supporters despite a few trolls and some people who support other clubs who have opinions about QPR.

What I find unpleasant is when posters resort to personal abuse between them just because someone holds a different opinion to theirs. For me this is a real turn-off and while it can be interesting to see how the abuse escalates I would rather not be part of anything that permits abuse at the levels some recent posts have achieved.

I'm not a great believer in censorship and the majority of posters don't get involved in the extremes of abuse, but I think it should be possible for supporters of the same team to disagree about things in a more civilised maner.

I think the moderator should be permitted to comment once things reach a certain level that the remarks made are unacceptable.

Who's Next?

really?.............and what would these 'levels' be?.........abusing people simply because they disagree with an opinion?......bloody hell!!!! who did that?......so exactly what shade of grey would you like this board to be?.....and how abusive can it get before you consider 'doing the off'............

An idea popped into my head last night at about 3am. I reckon Norf should archive his different rants so it is easier to refer back to them. Have a little subsection for them with: Coventry, Scottish Football, International Football...ect

Would make me laugh anyhow!

Scrolling through here, a couple of things jump out at me:

1. Definitely not a fan of sectioning off th emessageboard into themes. I like there being a variety of tyypes of threads all together.

2. I like the interaction with fans of other teams. It is usually done respectfully and they tend to offer good persective and insight.

3. All this nonsense about whether someone who watches the game on TV should comment is rubbish. Its not how you see it, but how insightful a person you are that matters. I reckon that Clive could watch the match on a 2 inch phone screen whilst riding bareback through the Saharan dessert and still have more insightful comments than some people. The beauty of the board is the variety of perspectives and opinions. When you watch on TV you have the benefit of slow motion replay and close-ups. When you go in person you have the benefit of atmosphere and big picture. Both bring different perspectives to the conversation.

As long as it doesnt sink to personal threats or intimidation , I think a bit of abuse is ok,
I dont know anybody on here but I like to think the conversation is like having a beer and chat together and can get a bit lively.

Get yourself a thick skin and get stuck in IMO

No problem.

At that time of night I am usually well watered. Hope you get your Hampsteads sorted, I was in a similar state a couple of months ago and it really is no fun.
