Because it relies on Flash and Apple products don't support Flash. They need to update the site.

For QPR Player and video streaming I use photon web browser instead of the normal safari on my ipad. It's not ideal as the setting up is a bit clunky, but its (or was) free and it supports flash.

The flash player issue is the only downside I found since moving from laptop to ipad.
