35k with roof on 11:26 - Jul 7 with 1603 views | MedwayR | Personally I'd be a bit wary of D&B as I'd want more design input than usually happens with D&B, the contractors aren't going to care about atmosphere, proximity to pitch etc

35k with roof on 11:51 - Jul 7 with 1531 views | Nov77 | McIntyre reckons no announcement on Monday: QPR are expected to reveal plans for a new stadium in the coming weeks. The club have been looking at a number of possible sites to move to and believe they are close to a breakthrough. An announcement could be made before the start of the new season, confirming that Rangers are to leave Loftus Road, which has been their home for the best part of 95 years. Relocation is key to the ambitious long-term plans of the Tony Fernandes-led regime — as is the imminent signing of Korean star Park Ji-sung from Manchester United. Rangers have scheduled a press conference for Monday to unveil Park and not, as has been widely suggested, to discuss their stadium plans.

Stadium will be in West London." Shouldn't Bhatia have been at the meeting in the first place? After all, he's the one who said the board had learnt from previous mistakes in trying to change the club (so in theory would know what is sensible).

35k with roof on 12:42 - Jul 7 with 1445 views | N12Hoop | Agree with this post. Originally I thought that westfield has led to an increase in the profile and value of the Bush and a football ground would not be welcome. But now I'm thinking its one part of a wider redevlopment. Both Westfield and the council should be thinking that an all purpose all weather covered stadiummusic venuewould be a great addition to west london and provide needed competition to the excel arena whoch for many people is the wrong side of london. W12 is zone 2, has fantastic overground and undeground links and ticks every box. Side by side with Westfield it would make the area very desirable for investors etc. Also, with the dairy site and the bbc site both vacant there is a risk that all they end up with is a bunch of housing because no retail trade is going to set up in competition and what would be the attraction of a big hotel. Turning 1 of these sites into a stadium would be the right thing for the area long term. And for us being there would be of huge benefit to us. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

35k with roof on 13:07 - Jul 7 with 1395 views | ted_hendrix | Medway, If It's not built under a design and build contract I'd be bloody surprised, the client (QPR) will definately have certain input in the design and the client will finally give the nod to whatever various schemes are put on the table. Each D&B contract whatever it is has to be designed with the clients written requirements built in. D&B contracts give the client better safeguards and warranties as I'm assuming you know? Traditional contracts for this sort of construction are a pain, D&B contracts move swiftly-the contractor sorts the problems out there and then if and when they arise. The amount of D&B contracts we do are huge, the clients are involved all the way through the contract and are forever changing they're minds and altering things.

35k with roof on 14:15 - Jul 7 with 1299 views | MedwayR | Thats reassuring Ted, most of my experience with D&B is for generic stuff (schools, hotels etc) where there has been very little input from the client so wasn't sure how suitable D&B would be for what is possibly(hopefully) going to be a stadium a little different from most, I know D&B is used for most stadiums which is why they all look similar. Could the club appoint a design team which could transfer to the contractor when one is appointed? - Having done a bit of research it appears this is what happened with the Emirates which was a well run project...

35k with roof on 08:14 - Jul 8 with 821 views | Ranger78 | I've been reading about Populous. They are pretty much responsible for every new stadium out there. The good news for us are they have built plenty with an atmosphere. They have designed nearly all of the purpose built MLS stadiums, all of which are pretty small and close to the pitch. 2 stadiums that sping to mind are both on the Gold Coast in Australia, Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane is nicknamed "The Cauldron" and Skilled Park which is basically a smaller version.
35k with roof on 08:39 - Jul 8 with 800 views | finney | if i was to build a ground i would base the design on some of the newer German grounds and make so different to most of the new builds over here. But keep the closeness of LR. If they go for the 40-45k mark that is huge and would mean us knocking on the door of the champions league each season to fill it. Unless the club keep the prices low and rebuild the fan base as well really good news that we are signing class players and moving the club forward. And i hope we still manage to keep the club a special one and the last game at Loftus Road will be a tear in the eye for many. I do still love LR i know i should not leg room awful no bars shite food but we the place rocks it is the best in the world. But i am sure we will take that with us.
35k with roof on 08:52 - Jul 8 with 784 views | sexton | We're in a fabulous location close to the centre of London with brilliant transport links. With good marketing and sensible pricing I'm sure we can get big crowds. But will the place rock? And I know that at least once a season I'll take a nostalgic stroll down South Africa Road to see what's replaced the old place.
35k with roof on 09:24 - Jul 8 with 768 views | SpiritofGregory | By the time the stadium has been constructed, we'll have built up the fan base. The board know what they are doing.
35k with roof on 11:45 - Jul 8 with 700 views | MKQPR | Also a lot of the smaller stadiums they build are built in a way they can easily be expanded at a later date. Which makes me think we are going to build a 30-35k stadium but can be expanded to 45-50k in the future to accommodate for a growing fan base if needed
