Rather Ironic...Us or Bolton.. 09:56 - May 8 with 2396 viewsspencer

Had the "goal" no goal from Clint Hill stood against Bolton, that game could have had a different outcome and maybe we might have had 1 point and not zero....

If justice prevails in life, come next sunday we will still be in premiership and Bolton will go down....Otherwise another case of, should we have goal line technology as well as refs/linesmen that are not blind !!

Has Bob Pollock got the IQ to comprehend what his incompetence could cost us???

Let's not forget the pride of Bolton, Lee Mason.

Last season, Blackpool beat Wigan away 4-0 on first day of season. Wigan stayed up on last day of season and Blackpool went down

At the end of the day, it was 0-0 when that happened, we also equalised very early on in the second half and still contrived to blow it. Yes it was bad decision but we still managed to lose that game through our own incompetence.

Don't let facts stand in the way of rants.

Had we scored first, it WOULD have been 3 points guaranteed, and we would have subsequently gone on to win some of the games that we did lose.
Confidence would have been greater, and NW's job might have been saved.
So we would have had more points, and been safe weeks ago instead of relying on another team to do us a favour and beat a similarly relegation threatened team.

It's not what you've got; it's where you stick it.

Again the logic behind this romantic idea of things evening themselves out falls on one point and one point alone. Would we be as imcompetent as you say we were if the goal had been given. I do not know but more to the point neither do you we may have been imcompetent because of the effects of the goal not being given. The only fact was that the goal was not given and all that happened afterwards resulted from that decision. Had the goal been given then whose to say things would not have been different. Every bit a valid argument as yours

We are where we are due to performances elsewhere ( and conceding late at Bolton). Away defeats at places such as Sunderland and West Brom were the fault of the team and not a referee or linesman. If we go down it is the teams and managers fault and not to do with being hard done by.

If we'd defended properly and got the draw at Bolton we'd be safe now. The Clint Hill goal was a joke but for me if we go down it will be due to us losing far too many games to teams around us. We've done well to even take it to the last game.

If we do go down it will be because of under performing repeatedly over the whole season. It won't be because of one incident in one match.

Its both... It did cost us HUGE

But we also should have seen them off anyway! Difficult to recover for the players esp Clint Hill from a bang like that though

I agree.Hindsight is a wonderful thing.Had that goal gone in...we will never know what route QPR would have taken.Maybe this, maybe we wouldn't have gone on a 5 home match winning spree..But, if we play this weekend and a similar goalline situation happens again, which would deny us our safety point, there are no more games to follow...no more bad defending to come....that one incident could then determine our season. Its just rather ironic that the two teams playing to survive on the last day ...are the two teams that were involved in that match.Going by some people's logic...as we lost home and away to Bolton....they must be a better side than us.

Lose...go down because your team is sh.it and has the least amount of points, but i don't want to be helped there by the fact that we have officials that now are unable to officiate games at a decent level.

Best to forget the injustices and concentrate on Sunday and fight like the old junkyard dog and get a point at least.

Surely, if we go down, it is because of the huge number of red cards, and in particular against Wolves and Norwich. It is our home form that has let us down, the same as it is for most teams in the prem. Foolham have never been that great on the road, in fact downright awful at times, but not stopped them being relatively succesful for a small club, as home is like a fortress
