Exciting Prospect 16:41 - Feb 19 with 2845 viewskirbys

I thought we saw the signs of a really good prospect in Kevin Amankwah yesterday.
He is settling in very nicely with Kev Long and handled himself very well in general against a small but very mobile Bounemouth attack. He has good pace and is winning most balls in the air, he even danced down the touchline a few times in support of the attack.
Yes he did get turned once or twice, but with experience he will learn.
At last we look a lot more secure in the middle now than anytime this season.

Correct.

Yesterday was Amankwaah's 300th career game.

Darby is on 79, Long 46 and Widdowson 123.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Yep.

Also JK's 250th career game and Jonah's 80th Dale goal.

To be fair he's probably played less than 10% of those games at CB.

Dive not
He did make the most of it but there was a definite shove in the back

up the dale

A shove in the back helped with the 'dive'

It says a lot about Coleman's credentials that he's picking a footballing centre-back ahead of Holness & Holden

Don't think even Dawson had the ability to take the ball down the wing!!

Fair enough, the lad's played at fullback most of his career, but he must have been given the confidence by Coleman to have a run upfield, with others filling in behind him. Full marks for both Coleman & Amankwaah

Poll: What are you planning to do v Newport

I stand corrected in my assumption he was in the early part of his career.
Anyone know how often he has played in the middle of back four as opposed to full back?
In any case, he is improving every match. Tomorrow will be a good test for our improving defence.
