It might be basic stewarding, but I would imagine it's not the easiest thing to implement when realistic's and MAK's lot are intent on behaving like complete morons regardless of what the stewards say.
This is one of the reasons why this fixture now has early kick-offs on a Saturday. | |

The cost of policing the game last night will have been enormous. I counted 40 police in the ground - all of which I think we pay for. There were a large number of police outside the ground too. Oldham are the only team where this is needed. They also damaged the netting at the Sandy end of Willbuts when they scored.
Sadly, once again, we had injuries in the mainstand with fallers on the stairs at the end of the game. Again, when the fans around were shouting for the stewards to help, they refused to get involved - fellow fans did manage to lift the guy. This has happened too often now. Hope the guys are recovering from what was a hell of a bang to the head for one of them. Given the age of some of the fans in the mainstand, and the number of falls we see each season, isn't it time to put some handrails in? | | | |

On the subject of spending on ground improvements, the Club must be applauded for dipping into finances and getting the rain covers that surely without which yesterday's game would have been postponed. There is still the problem of the sterile swamp in the corner which looked as bad as, well done groundstaff. | | | |

How should they be stored? rolled up and dumped at the side of the pitch yesterday as the groundstaff short on time (fair enough).
