I was quite Suprised when I heard these rumours this morning but as Suprised to read this BBC article.

I think we might know a bit more between now and the end of the month. It looks like Mr Vincent has covered a lot of angles after the initial story that he broke.

Very poor of the club to let a decent championship centre half run his contract down.

Btw he was crap today.

Put him up for sale Ā£1m ono. Bring in Low and another to replace Abbey. I never believed he would sign a new deal. Someone will take him on.

If Low come in then it has to be "you have played your last game for Swansea".

He wants to play but it will not h be here.

Unfortunately, the ball lies in his court. Even if a club does come in with the offer, doesn't mean he'll want to move there. He'll have a pick of clubs and a healthy signing on bonus come June. Even if we cut our nose off to spite our face and not play him, 4.5 months of no Football is not going to put off interested suitors.

We left the hardball impact a little too late to be effective unfortunately.

For me, if you have a member of the squad you value, appreciate and want to retain, you should be looking at extensions from 2 years out from their expiry. Not letting it run down to the last 12 months.

"With the ball now firmly in Darling's court, a decision on his next move may not be made until the end of the season, when he is due to become a free agent."

Looks like the club are prepared to let hin see the season and his contract out then make a decision.

I wonder if MK Don's have a sell on fee. If he doesn't want to be here then gid rid.

Doesn't a sell on fee get paid on the difference between the price paid and the price sold. We would not get more for Darling than we paid for him.

Could Bristol City make another bid?

The quote a couple of posts up is key "the ball is in Darling's court" he's going nowhere.

It's a 2 edged sword though, we have seen plenty of payers sign extensions and then not look bothered.

This is how a normal football club would operate.

Unfortunately, weā€™ve been run by frauds who put us into managed decline the moment we got relegated. That may well end up costing us Harry Darling.

That it has been put on the back burner until the summer.

Which is why knowing the character of the individual is important. But if you're having contract talks 2 years out from the expiry, if the club aren't liking what they're hearing from the player or his representatives, it gives you up to 4 windows to move the player on and maximise the fee.

Now, all we potentially have left is 4.5 months out of a decent player who will walk for a free and we will have nothing to come in to re-incest back into the squad. Poor management by the SCFC hierarchy.

Players like Manning will never sign a new deal. Swansea got him for a song from QPR with 6 months left. That is what he does. He came cheap and left for free.

If Swansea put Darling up for sale, if there is a bidding war a team will make a bid and other clubs waiting for him in the Summer will have to respond or lose him. When the fee is discounted Ā£1-2m they may as well go all in and use him to help the promotion drive e g WBA Leeds Sunderland. Darling cannot tell them to wait.

Swansea may as well buy Low or similar and bed him in. Darling wil not be at Swansea next season. This team is developing and not yet fully competitive.

I donā€™t think so, up until November Kaplan and co were calling the financial shots. Harry has been offered a very competitive deal since then. He was very close to signing until Luke decided he was the top man and scuppered not only transfers coming in, but Darlingā€™s confidence in the club. That for me is what has happened.

It always has been because he has a contract the club must honour. Nothing gas changed.

All Swansea can do is play him or put him up for transfer. He will go this January IDF anyone make a half decent offer. He is a good player he will get offers on good wages.

If Darling says " not interested" with 2-3 good three year offers on the table he would be foolish. Jam today. No one knows what can happen in the next 5 months.

I would say that would be dependent on us not leaving the offer on the table, it seems we have.

My opinion regarding Darling is different to yours (though you may be in possession of facts to suggest you are right) in that I reckon LW has said to him donā€™t sign and Iā€™ll bring you to WBA.
