Pitch update on 12:03 - Jan 4 with 5073 views | Dalenet | We'll find out on Wednesday. The forecast is for Stockton to not get above freezing all day Tuesday and Wednesday - but it will be sunny on both days. It will be -5c by 9pm on Wednesday. The positive is that it will be dry and so there shouldn't be much to freeze.
Pitch update on 14:15 - Jan 4 with 4534 views | EllDale | Might it be worth having a word with the likes of Bradford City? They spent a lot of time on their pitch last summer after a lot of postponements last season?
Pitch update on 15:06 - Jan 4 with 4359 views | Yorkshire_Dale | Well, we are looking quite the Tinpot Club right now......the modus operandi of the Club is to play football and have not kicked a ball in anger since 17th Dec on our own midden. If we can beat Stockton next week, will we be praying for an away trip in the next round so soggy Spotty can drain or thaw out? When we had the last expensive pitch work done, under BotBot's regime was it not revealed to everyone's amazement that there were no drains. Is this still the case?
Pitch update on 15:07 - Jan 4 with 4333 views | TVOS1907 | Hartlepool didn't have a game today.

Pitch update on 15:18 - Jan 4 with 4257 views | 442Dale | Our last Saturday home league game was on the 9th of November. That will be the only Saturday home league game we’ll have played between 20/10/24 and 25/1/25. Since beating Halifax on 22/10/24 we have played two home league games in total. The next is scheduled for 15/1/25. 84 days. Not counting the totally pointless NL Cup, we will have played three home games in the same period. On the subject of work that took place under previous regimes, by continually referencing this it allows the club to shift the blame and conversation about what we have been able to control in recent times and going forward. Speculating about what is right or wrong with the pitch will remain that until the club decide that supporters deserve to know the full details. Or until the Trust actually do what they’re supposed to when representing fans and request exactly that.

Pitch update on 15:27 - Jan 4 with 4215 views | TVOS1907 | Also, if we get the Yeovil game on on 25th January, it will mean it's been 77 days between Saturday home matches.

Pitch update on 16:24 - Jan 4 with 4015 views | mightydale | As I just stated on X, the nodding dog Murry should be demanding answers from the club but I won't hold my breath. What is the short-term plan if the 'Dryjet' doesn't work What's the medium-long term plan for the pitch What plans are in place when the rugby starts and the pitch is at its most vulnerable. Are all these postponement going to have an effect on our transfer activities.

Pitch update on 16:28 - Jan 4 with 3998 views | Rodingdale | Problem is people get out of the habit of going to the games. The confusion of the plethora of meaningless games adds to the sense of - yeah whatever. 5,000 home fans seems a long long way off. 🙁

Pitch update on 16:35 - Jan 4 with 3964 views | D_Alien | I'm guessing that'll be a club (mid-season) record? There was an extended period of severe weather in the late 70s? when we didn't have a home game of any description, between something like New Year and March, but the same applied to a lot of clubs

Pitch update on 16:51 - Jan 4 with 3874 views | Dalenet | Oh dear....it was Scunny that was off and I had mixed them up in my head. Sorry
Pitch update on 16:54 - Jan 4 with 3856 views | TVOS1907 | Actually, it isn't! Record is 98 days between 24th November 1979 (FA Cup v Scunthorpe) and 1st March 1980 (League v Crewe). There was a 91-day gap in the 1978/79 season, 84 days in 2017/18 and a previous 77 in 1965/66. If you remove cup matches, we didn't play at home on a Saturday between 22nd September 1979 and 1st March 1980, a gap of 161 days, but we did have nine home games on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Pitch update on 17:16 - Jan 4 with 3752 views | D_Alien | I was probably thinking of an hiatus in fixtures, ending with a 1-1 draw against Hartlepool; may have been the 78/79 gap The odd thing i remember is that the gate against Hartlepool was around 1900, which everyone thought was a huge success given our average at the time [Post edited 4 Jan 17:18]

Pitch update on 18:31 - Jan 4 with 3469 views | finberty | Is there any correlation between the frequency of waterloggings at the COA, and the arrival of a housing development between St Clement's, the Church and the ground? Since the COA stands at the top of a fairly steep hill on that side, it beggars belief it cannot drain quickly. Have corners been cut by a developer that results in existing drains being compromised?
Pitch update on 23:27 - Jan 4 with 2956 views | Sandyman | "Work will commence this week to ‘Dryject’ the Crown Oil Arena pitch, as confirmed in the Co-Chair’s Christmas message. This is a process which aims to remove water from the playing surface. We are extremely hopeful that this work will ensure the pitch is in a playable condition by the time we are next in action at home, when we welcome York City in Vanarama National League action on Wednesday 15th January (7.45pm kick-off)." Will this work be able to commence on Monday, given the forecast freezing temperatures and the fact that snow is falling on the pitch as this comment is typed?
Pitch update on 09:37 - Jan 5 with 2556 views | rod_leach | The forecast is not looking too bad. No rain after tomorrow until the 15th. Let's hope the pitch is OK. What with hols and illness I've think I've only been to 3 games this season.
Pitch update on 15:02 - Jan 5 with 1890 views | Yorkshire_Dale | Totally agree, they let the fans down gently and with a full explanation and an APOLOGY! Here its :" Game off : Frozen Pitch/waterlogged, if you paid in cash go the Club for a refund"
Pitch update on 15:17 - Jan 5 with 1821 views | Dalenet | For the sake of balance, at least the majority of our fans will have bought their tickets digitally and we should be refunded automatically. So maybe, our position is less inconvenient for fans. And we did call it off early enough to avoid travelling. Having said that, the word sorry would be nice. And we still don't know why the club hasn't hired some rain covers to give us a better chance of getting games on.
Pitch update on 19:05 - Jan 5 with 1489 views | Rodingdale | Sorry - incorrect. Bought three tickets for the Boston game. Not had chance to seek a refund - but nothing authentic about it. Heard nowt.
