Here goes, second crack. Hopefully our much improved home form continues and we can make it four on the spin.

I'll go for a tight 2-1 win with Kolli who at home is becoming a bit of a talisman notching one and Chair finally getting off the mark.

I definitely feel a win coming. No evidence to back it up, just a feeling.

Never knowingly right.

Kolli and Smythe are due a rest wouldn't be surprised to see them on the bench for 60 mins. 3-1 win all the same.

First game of the season for me and the kids and would love a win and a couple of goals. They’ve been to a few games the last year or two and it’s been truly awful so really need something otherwise they may never want to go back and the family support of QPR will have started and ended with just me and my brother.

I’m in the same boat with my two - they’ve seen some right dross in their first few games. Thank God for Jimmy Dunne and the Preston game which seems to have bought some more time!

My Watford mate at work is not confident about tomorrow. We have a plate of chips resting on this must win 6 pointer.

I feel good.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Saito should be back off the bench, what’s the chance of Illias playing number 10? Agree Smyth needs a rest but suspect he will start also. Morgan needs a rest, Jimmy needs a rest ( but won’t get one). Hate to say it but not confident, lose 1-0

We don't want any last minute conceded goals this time, Cambs. You can hold the red cards, injuries and missed pens, too. Thanks.

Marti needs to get his thinking gloves on for this one.
So many players not at full fitness like JCS. What would you do ? Start him or bring him on at 60 mins ?

I knew that you would. Don’t forget, I’ve got chips on this.

The team i would play currently

Nardi

Paal JCS Fox Dunne

Field Varane Morgan

Chair Kolli Smyth

JCS subbed 60 minutes - returning from injury (Ashby)

Morgan subbed 60 minutes - needs some rest (EDB - Needs a run out)

Smyth subbed 60 minutes - needs some rest (Saito)

Would give Dunne some rest as needs it too but he is so important for us currently in either position and Fox worries me with both his know how and also pace being not on show.

And if needed would as forward option required be putting on Lloyd ahead of Frey in this one. Frey has been average since couple of his cameos so far.

Chair to start - feeling this could be the first game we get to see The real Ilias again. Been encouraged myself that he seems to look for others as often as he tries doing everything himself.

But the one new years gift we all don't want. Is no more key players picking up something that keeps them out for months it's getting a bit tiresome !!

A nervy 1-0 win Chair getting the winner in the 89th minute. Here’s hoping.

Will it still be windy at 12.30? Could make a difference in terms of ends and starting line-ups if it's advantageous for only one half. Think Marti will start with a strong line-up and try and wrap the game up before making any changes. I can see Frey starting as he's on the preview pics (not a perfect science, mind).

JCS subbed 60 minutes - returning from injury (Ashby)
If Marti was to do this, he would create the exact same left-footed imbalance that caused us so many problems at Swansea. So I wouldn't recommend this unless the game is out of sight (reach). I agree though that JCS needs minutes (in fact I don't think he should have gone from 0 to 90 to 0 - I would have thrown him on for the last 15 v Norwich), so would put him on either directly for Fox, or for Paal and move Fox to LB.
Really though, it is less about personnel and more about attitude. If we get stuck in like Norwich (x2), Watford at home and Preston, we will be fine and at least a draw. If we go out all insipid and passive then we will get beat - simple as.

The Christmas season match schedule in the UK is pretty brutal even for fit young fellas. Tis’ the season for silly soft tissue injuries as we’ve already seen. Probably why there’s always upsets this time of the season too.

I always thought that was due to some players being three sheets to the wind the day before the game.

Latest local weather forecast says winds dying down by KO.
Thenceforth not quite so windy but heavy rain throughout the game.
Could be worse.

True

But not sure it's wise yet for JCS to do full 90, but get your point

We have injuries !!!!!
