At last Tall Paul gets a start. 13:50 - Dec 26 with 4300 viewsGRIM

Ivan Juric has done what RM was afraid to do, he's given Tall Paul a start today.
At least it shows the new coach has some bottle & gives TALL Paul a chance to convince us that he can do a job.

How many goals and assists did anyone else have?
Enlighten us what you would do to improve with the players we have?

The re is no way Tall Paul is a class PL striker BUT give him a run and I think he will get goals
That’s the first full game he has played for us AND he has been injured
Give him a chance. Play Archer alongside him

Oh where is Ross Stewart……..

We have our excuse for this defeat. VAR again.
The reasons are we don’t have good enough players and a manager on the cheap.

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

If I’m not mistaken that’s the first full game Onuachu has played
Give him an extended run and he’ll come good. He just needs to get that first goal under his belt and he came close today. He held the ball up well
He’s hardly had a chance under Martin so he’s going to be rusty and just needs a confidence boost
IMO our best player today

no, wrong. if we could actually hit the target without finding the keeper then we would ave won today. Could have been 3-1 up at the break but noooo, we are awful up front

Spot on Grumps. Tall Paul had probably 6 or 7 attempts on goal. When was the last time a Saints forward got themselves into positions where they had that many attempts in one game? We also need someone putting in decent crosses. Most of the crosses he received yesterday were either behind him or floated crosses where it was difficult to generate any power.
He just needs that first chance to go in and the goals will come

Quiteright Matt. New manager, effectively a new side. Let Tall Paul get that first goal and there should be no stopping him like performance anxiety did to the team today. They ARE good enough. They just need to believe it.

Just watched the highlights.

For the first headed chance Paul had (from the lovely KWP cross from the byline) the West Ham player simply ran into him like he was playing American Football. No attempt to get anywhere near the ball. Clear pen for me.

On the same subject, if Bellis had concentrated more on jumping that on stopping the jump for their goal, that flick on might not have happened.

Poll: Should we try to replace Selles for the final seven games?

Yep I thought he was impeded too. I also thought he was taken down just inside the edge of the box when he took it past the West Ham defender but I doubt MOTD showed that one

Tall Paul might not of scored but he made a huge difference to the way we played.
We actually looked dangerous going forward, we looked like scoring goals.
He was a handful for the West Ham defence.
Who else have we got that can have that impact on a game, no one.
Give him a run of games & he'll score goals which is more than Adam Armstrong is likely to do.
I'd like to see Cameron Archer playing alongside Tall Paul, that would be our best set up.
