My last great gig was....... on 07:54 - Dec 21 with 712 views | Gus_iom | We don't get much over here, but I saw Tom McRae was due to play in Peel Cathedral. Don't know much about him, liked a couple of his songs years ago, so went, really to support a local promoter as much as anything. Spotified his new album thought 'oh dear'. Support band were an acoustic duo, lovely music, did 6 songs, and I wondered how much I could take, really... Then Tom McRae strolled up, did his first song, I just turned round to the wife and said 'wow'. He played for 2 hours, I knew a handful of songs, but I loved it all. Something quite different from my normal punk stuff, (Therapy? We're over in October, thoroughly enjoyed that as well).

Real quality musicianship. I did like my seat at the Barbican on Thursday night. The LSO was doing a Christmas jazz thing. Frank Dupree was the pianist. Played this - superb stuff. https://open.spotify.com/track/6rsfGJhV6RKjYd7eZI9wC1?si=zdkdY9HTRqms7zy2vS9fEg Loads of artists on this thread that I've never heard of! [Post edited 21 Dec 11:53]

My last great gig was....... on 11:51 - Dec 21 with 455 views | TW_R | Check out a Canadian band called The Commoners BC. Very Black Crowes influenced. I saw them in Hastings 3 weeks ago, then went to see The Sheepdogs a week later and they were the support band.
My last great gig was....... on 11:55 - Dec 21 with 438 views | loftboy | Been to a few tribute bands this year but my next proper gig is Toots and the Maytals in Kent in April Obviously Toots is no longer with us so we will see! I did see the blockheads a few years back obviously again without Ian Dury and they were still brilliant. Bands I have seen in the last few years are Madness, Keane, the foals and spear of destiny, also went to an evening with Ralph McTell which turned out better than I thought it would.
