Norwich losing heads, ref good and Morrisson lucky 07:56 - Dec 9 with 4667 viewshoops_legend

I was surprised to see how much Norwich lost their heads. Yes we were good, much improved and forced them into this but I felt like Norwich completely lost their way - couldn’t string their passes together and a lot of their players were lucky not to get sent off

That greasy combover chap (was it sainz?) was completely out of order and complaining to ref all day

Also who was the player who shoved one of ours into the advertising boards / surely that’s a red as that’s malicious and not football

Onto our players, when Morrison upended their player when he lost the ball - was that almost deserving of red card? It was good tactical foul from our perspective but from a football perspective it’s cynical and not good for the game - thoughts?

Generally though I was happy with referee who called all the fouls right

Poll: Would you rather win league cup or survive?

Worth checking out the second Norwich offside on the highlights where Crnac is screaming at him and the lino just shrugs like what do you want me to do? Right around 1:44.

Never a red for me as it wasn't a clear goal scoring opportunity but I had my head in my hands for 30seconds. I'm all for playing out from the back but Paal conceded possession doing the same thing about 5 minutes before which led to 3 corners and pressure we didn't need to be dealing with. As Kolli showed, if the defender wants to try drag-backs on that kind of surface, it'll probably end in tears.

They’ve been diving, cheating, ref-bothering whingers for years. That donkey Chris Sutton, or Grant Holt, anyone?

I always think back to an early-90s home match whenever we play them. It was the year that they were top of the league until quite late on. They were one up and the amount of diving and time-wasting really wound us all up and our support was bloody ferocious second half.
We equalised with a Falco header from a Super-Bard cross and Falco probably fouled the defender as he was climbing all over him but there would have been a riot of it got disallowed.

Not quite revenge for 75-76 because they faded badly thereafter, but it was great at the time.

Or is it just me …..?

I was right by it too Dave. It wasn't intentional at all - he missed his kick thanks to the wind and his arm was naturally counterbalancing his weight. Wouldn't have been given 5 years ago, but there's all that unnatural position stuff now. The irony being, it was a totally natural movement - a counterbalance. What save him was it was in line with his body and I'm not sure (without checking the highlights) that the ref had a clear view.

It was right on the touchline and looked like the ball would have gone out anyway, so would have been harsh.

Again, not dissimilar to Watford last week mind which looked a pen on highlights, the difference being the conditions and where it occurred (inside not outside shoulder near the touchline).

You only have to think back to the game where Barton wrongly got sent off to dislike their tactics.Or the game up there when Diop spat at us in the front couple of rows, and that gappy b@rstard Robert’s scored the late winner.
And the fact that we rarely seem to beat them.Six fingered c unts.

Ref was taking the piss marking a defensive free kick, when he had previously been allowing defensive kicks on any area of grass which was enclosed by four stands.

Generally thought he was poor and lost the game very early.

I'm not sure how you get 5 yellow cards after 8 fouls in 90 minutes. No quibble re Morrison nor Nardi (taking the p1ss).
Norwich, especially Fisher, committed plenty and the stud scrape on Madsen was cowardly. So was Maclean elbowing Morgan. Dunne rattled Sainz from 1st minute and he should have talked himself into a red card. If the ref could grow a pair.

Good call, I remember that game well, Really frustrating.

The late Falco goal was very passionately celebrated due to all the shithousing that had gone on. I also seem to recall a huge chorus of "boring, boring Norwich" after the final whistle, despite the positive emotions following the equaliser.

For me it ranks close to the Gurnham Singh Spurs game in terms of an angry home crowd.
