Think it's probably Jimmys last year at the club. Would be happy to see him stay on though. Great pro.

I don't understand - why would he be leaving at the end of the season? And why does the poster who thinks he's been very good for us only consider him worth keeping if we get relegated?
He's a real stalwart for us and was a big part of our revival last season, crowned with that great winner v Brum. For some reason, he;'s been getting pelters at times this season just for being JD, it seems, when there have been many more deserving targets. Sure, he drops the odd rick and isn't the quickest, but I'm glad he's in our team.
Absolutely colossal in the air yesterday attacking-wise.
He's such a huge part of our threat in those situations, wins that first contact every bloody time and you can't sniff at it when the fluidity going forward is, let's say, a work in progress.
Great character, clearly has affection for the club, learned a new position, 27 years old - would be infuriating if he left on a free to another Championship team. Assuming he wants to stay get that contract sorted.
Top lad, totally committed, a decent player despite the odd mistake. What I like is that he 'wants the ball', wants to be involved, wants 3 points, a proper team/QPR player.
I do not think that he will be leaving QPR at the end of his contract unless a Premier side wants him.

His contract was extended by just one year. Suggests to me he might not be around but hopefully he stays.

I see him as our team leader as without going over old ground I don't see that from Cook on the pitch,
Undoubtedly doesn't have the experience of Cook but I see one's mistakes overlooked (Eg Cook was all over the place @ Luton) and the others being amplified and talked up for weeks,
Dunne's mistakes tend to be when he steps out to engage the attacker which is what I want to see in a defender don't just drop off and let the cross come in or drop 10 and let the attacker get his shot off,
Popular in the dressing room, plays for the team and us fans, puts 100% effort every week, hence stats in opponents in penalty box,
Shame he's 1st choice scapegoat for so many of our fans who just don't get it.

There’s a reason Santos and Ashby can’t get in ahead of him. His defensive and attacking contributions at set pieces are invaluable to the team. 100% dedication and commitment every game. The occasional cock up can be forgiven, it happens to the very best players.
Paal’s inability to stop a cross is more of a concern than anything JD can or cannot do. As is Smyth’s inability to deliver a cross. Great work ethic, can’t cross for shit.

Yeah always good in front of the camera, wondered if that was down to any media training he had at Man U? But seems naturally intelligent anyway (compared to most pros).
Love Jimmy Dunne. A Character, makes things happen, aerially dominant. Yes he has mistakes - the worst generally being rushed or poor clearances when playing centreback - but he doesn't hide afterwards, always contributes. There's a certain mad chaos to his play which I enjoy. You know you've watched him. Not some bland hider you don't even notice. I'll be sad if he goes this summer.

You are far too critical of Cook all the time. Cook is what he is - he's not some flawless ball-playing centre back. He's a muck and nettles, old fashioned Macca type. Head it away all day, make heroic blocks. God knows you need them in the Championship.
He's been brilliant for us from the day he joined and we would miss him so much if he wasn't with us. Some of the chat that our partnership should be Morrison and JCS is a bit bemusing to me.
I think Dunne has been excellent too. Players make mistakes, much easier to forgive the likes of Dunne and Cook I think than some of those less committed to the cause.

I am sure part of the reason Dunne has improved and been good at right back since Jan/Feb is because he is playing with Cook? His performances with Dickie in the previous season at centre half were often woeful. Cook improves those defenders around him whilst also doing his job competently, which is a rarity for defenders at QPR over the years.
I still think our challenges this season have been nothing really to do with Cook, JCS, Dunne or Morrison. Obviously Fox had is brain fart game and cost us 3 points. And Paal has been going through the motions a bit and got done against WBA.
The problem is the 5/6 in front of them. Field apart, that group have not made enough tackles, not competed well enough, nor tracked runners properly, often leaving the defence overrun.
