Do I detect a lack of interest growing? on 22:44 - Nov 28 with 2025 views | Ron11 | Maybe because we have become lethargic due to being fed a monotonous diet of what Martin thinks is good for SFC and it's supporters when it's actually only feeding his blind arrogant ego.

Do I detect a lack of interest growing? on 08:12 - Nov 29 with 1786 views | Heisenberg | We are bottom of the league and will almost certainly be relegated. I could accept this if it was a case of simply being not good enough but not our manager who totally disrespects the club and fans who part with money either through attending games or via TV subscriptions. Martins arrogance and his refusal to change things is ruining any enjoyment. I’ve supported Saints since I went to my first game in the 1960s and am now at the point that I won’t bother until the club acts and gets rid of this fraud of a manager.

Do I detect a lack of interest growing? on 08:34 - Nov 29 with 1745 views | saintwizzler | Why would he change? He holds all the cards. Sacked and paid £75k per week till his new contract runs out or he takes another job. He has no allegiance to SFC. He would jump ship at the drop of a hat if a better offer came along. It’s up to the powers to be to change him. If they are happy with us finishing bottom then it’s on them. Russell Martin plays his way of football and he isn’t going to change.

Do I detect a lack of interest growing? on 08:41 - Nov 29 with 1738 views | SaintNick | Describing him as a fraud is not strictly true, he got us promoted last season, he has proved himself as a good manager, the problem is he wont adapt his tactics and is sticking to his guns, that shows he hasn't got the nous not that he is a fraud, Nigel Adkins got Saints promoted in 2012, he suffered a bad start to his first season in the Premier League and many on here do compare the standard of players back in 2012 and now, and was sacked in the January (Unfairly I would say) He went on to have a very poor managerial after leaving Saints, yet he is not called a fraud. Martin should get our respect for what he has done for the club last season, but he has to be judged on what he does this season

Do I detect a lack of interest growing? on 08:57 - Nov 29 with 1714 views | saintwizzler | No other club would keep their manager with a record of 4 points from 12 games. This is all on the owners.

Do I detect a lack of interest growing? on 09:07 - Nov 29 with 1705 views | SaintNick | I wouldn't disagree, those in charge of the day to day running of the club, who incidentally were not at the club when he was appointed, so have no vested interest are sitting on their hands on this one

Do I detect a lack of interest growing? on 09:11 - Nov 29 with 1696 views | saintmark1976 | Spot on wizzler, I said exactly the same thing on Nick’s preview of this evening’s game. All the evidence points to Sports Republic being happy with a second Premiership rock bottom finish in just three seasons. I’m afraid that currently all we can do is to comfort ourselves with looking forward to The Championship next season. Cheaper tickets, more games, largely more sensible K O times and no sodding V A R. Who knows, perhaps also the odd occasional win ? At the end of the day there has been a Southampton Football Club since 1885 so our current difficulties will soon be forgotten as we march on.

Do I detect a lack of interest growing? on 09:36 - Nov 29 with 1655 views | mushinexile | Had Bazohno not been broken we would never have gone up. RM was lucky, having squandered a top two finish with his stubbornness. Loyalty is to his pocket - no different to anybody else in the game to be fair. Dragan- act for Christ's sake. This must be costing you a fortune!
Do I detect a lack of interest growing? on 09:53 - Nov 29 with 1628 views | ShirtNumbers | Championship games are almost always televised. This means endless 12:30 kick offs for us - Sky will want most of our games when we go down. 12:30 KO is anything but sensible.
Do I detect a lack of interest growing? on 10:02 - Nov 29 with 1597 views | saintmark1976 | 12.30 kick offs on a Saturday not ideal I agree but a lot better than tonight’s at 20.00 and our upcoming home game against Spurs,19.00 on a Sunday evening for pity sake. [Post edited 29 Nov 2024 10:04]

Do I detect a lack of interest growing? on 10:21 - Nov 29 with 1540 views | dirk_doone | I detect a lot of interest in this lack of interest thread, but we continue to sell out our games both home and away, so there is still lot more interest in tonight's game than there are tickets available for it. I suspect there might be a bit less interest for Hull away next season, now that the novelty of visiting such exotic places has worn off. [Post edited 29 Nov 2024 10:22]

Do I detect a lack of interest growing? on 10:55 - Nov 29 with 1443 views | dirk_doone | Yes, every Championship game is televised by Sky now, so kick-off times are all over the place, especially for teams that have just come down from the Premier League. There are even more Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8pm kick-offs than in the Premier League. Hull away is guaranteed to be one of them. That's when we might detect a lack of interest. We certainly won't detect any trains back. [Post edited 29 Nov 2024 11:01]
