Pompey Floodlight failure on 21:00 - Nov 27 with 1135 views | dirk_doone | PFC made this announcement before the game: "Pompey are kicking-off Wednesday night in style by lighting up the outside area of the club’s new and improved Fanzone." https://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/2024/november/26/fanzone-light-switch-on-fro That was, in fact, what caused the problem. The light show in the fanzone took the substations over their limit, so they couldn't cope with the demand for electricity inside the ground as well when the floodlights were turned on. A bit of an own goal by Little Pompey. [Post edited 27 Nov 23:11]

Pompey Game Delayed on 05:51 - Nov 28 with 844 views | TripleNiemi | You’d have thought that with 375,000 locals packed into Fratton Park that the grid would have been able to cope as they weren’t all at home watching Corrie…..

Pompey Game Delayed on 11:29 - Nov 28 with 737 views | dirk_doone | I'm surprised more isn't being made of the fact PFC caused the local substation to overload with the extra lighting they installed for the light show in their new fanzone. I doubt they had permission for the new wiring sytem. The power cut they caused not only affected Fratton Park. They should be held legally responsible and pay compensation to those affected. If it were any other business, they'd have to. [Post edited 28 Nov 16:26]

Pompey Game Delayed on 14:07 - Nov 28 with 628 views | LondonSaint76 | My mate dodged a bullet last night, he’s staying in the area for a few days and would probably gone if he’d known but he didn’t see a single plug for the game…

Pompey Game Delayed on 14:44 - Nov 28 with 598 views | franniesTache | As if they'd pay it even if they were fined. You're more likely to discover that they hooked up to the local children's hospital illegally and tried to siphon the power from the operating theatre.
Pompey Game Delayed on 16:08 - Nov 28 with 551 views | LondonSaint76 | No doubt using skills they were taught by Mandaric during the Gyspy Caravan era famously featuring the cash only turnstiles 😉 - of course they paid the VAT on those admissions, yeah sure they did - more chance of seeing the Pope lead a sounder of trained warthogs in a complex tap dance routine…
