Floodlight failure at Fratton Park still not started and nearly 45 mins past the kick off time, could be their second game in a row postponed

And a few pretty miffed Millwall fans.

No one lights us, no one lights us, no one lights us we don’t care …….

PFC made this announcement before the game:

"Pompey are kicking-off Wednesday night in style by lighting up the outside area of the club’s new and improved Fanzone."

That was, in fact, what caused the problem. The light show in the fanzone took the substations over their limit, so they couldn't cope with the demand for electricity inside the ground as well when the floodlights were turned on. A bit of an own goal by Little Pompey.

They tried to fix the lights but couldn’t find anyone bright enough to do the job.

On the plus side, QPR won 2-0 away at Cardiff which put Pompey rock bottom of the Championship... again.

You’d have thought that with 375,000 locals packed into Fratton Park that the grid would have been able to cope as they weren’t all at home watching Corrie…..

Ready and waiting to mop up those European places......

I'm surprised more isn't being made of the fact PFC caused the local substation to overload with the extra lighting they installed for the light show in their new fanzone. I doubt they had permission for the new wiring sytem. The power cut they caused not only affected Fratton Park. They should be held legally responsible and pay compensation to those affected. If it were any other business, they'd have to.

My mate dodged a bullet last night, he’s staying in the area for a few days and would probably gone if he’d known but he didn’t see a single plug for the game…

As if they'd pay it even if they were fined.

You're more likely to discover that they hooked up to the local children's hospital illegally and tried to siphon the power from the operating theatre.

No doubt using skills they were taught by Mandaric during the Gyspy Caravan era famously featuring the cash only turnstiles 😉 - of course they paid the VAT on those admissions, yeah sure they did - more chance of seeing the Pope lead a sounder of trained warthogs in a complex tap dance routine…
