Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 10:26 - Nov 28 with 1282 views | Whiterockin | When you are so narrow minded and make your mind up on a player/coach, it's very hard to change when they are actually doing a good job.
Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 10:48 - Nov 28 with 1252 views | onehunglow | I’m not sure Winston’s that narrow minded but I may be wrong Narrow mindedness was nurtured in the Welsh chapel days. There is/ one right in the middle of Landore . Every one and that includes you ,matey, has favourites or non favourites . We all make judgements in life . We like people,we don’t. It is possible to dislike the individual but not what they do. I’ve detested many in my long life but admired what they did Arrogance is pervasive

Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 11:24 - Nov 28 with 1200 views | vetchonian | Thats the point I was making earlier some on here just want to be negative no matter what. Despite us getting a win away at a club who have only lost once at home after we had gone toe to toe with top of the table Leeds for 96 minutes folks still are moaning. Despite the "control" we had in that first 20 mins Derby still managed forays into our penalty area creating chances before we scored the second goal. Yes it was backs to the wall stuff for a lot of the game but for once things went in our favour. Depsite all that "pressure" from Derby for 60 minutes they only managed to score from a penalty. Despite folks moaning about the poor quality if the squad and the not so great summer transfer window we find ourselves 11th We should have got something from the Burnley game , Leeds too and whilst we lost we lost tryting to win itnot settling for the draw.....hindsight eh I dont understand the amount of negativity that exists even when we are winning ...... We are still in the Championship we have gone trhough managerial upheaveal seen a constant reduction in the quality of our squad season on season.....yet we are still in the toughest league and competing.

Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 11:31 - Nov 28 with 1182 views | onehunglow | Let me help Last night we won We got three points However,it is not negative to look at our deficiencies . Ours are obvious . It’s why MPH is “ slagged off” . It’s because people care and this forum gives the opportunity to give them. What I can’t understand is why “ some” look for the posts of individuals ,ignore the thread, and simply use it to have another dig . It wasn’t “ negative” to suggest we blew it against Leeds. We came out and blew Derby away for fifteen minutes ,then went back into this grotesque shell of sloth and indifference . Why not have a go directly at the Indy reviewer who was there .

Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 11:34 - Nov 28 with 1166 views | Dr_Winston | Would we have given the ball away as often without Derby players constantly snapping at our heels? Hard to imagine that we would if we'd been given more time and space. Sometimes you've just gotta give credit where it's due. We weren't at our best in possession, but our job was made harder.

Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 11:36 - Nov 28 with 1165 views | vetchonian | Because I am not discussing the review purely the posts on here during the game .....and my psot where I offered my opinion how it seems some of our fan base seem to revel in us being under the cosh and moght prefer us to lose so they can continue to post negativity. Its always amazing how the tmatch day threads seem pages longer when we lose compared to when we win.

Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 11:37 - Nov 28 with 1154 views | onehunglow | How do you feel about full backs ,right on our own goal line, under pressure simply trying to lob the ball over an opponent . Why does a goalkeeper swop with a full back to take a goal kick only to have the ball returned back to him This is making it easier for an opponent . We allow teams like Derby, utterly under the coach and the crowd baying abuse , back into the game they had no right to get back into . We have handed games away regularly We got away with it last night

Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 11:47 - Nov 28 with 1109 views | Dr_Winston | You seem to think that opposing teams should just lie down and let us do whatever we want. The idea that they have their own game plan and can make tactical changes just doesn't occur to you. Newsflash. We're not going to win every game 3-0. Sometimes we will lose. Or draw. Sometimes we will play poorly and win. Sometimes we will play well and lose. The sooner you accept this the less tedious you will be for the rest of us.

Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 12:11 - Nov 28 with 1062 views | union_jack | Perfectly put! Or why not have a go at Luke himself who was quite scathing about our performance after the initial golden period. Also, I liked the way he praised Derby as well, nice to see from a decent football manager.

Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 12:14 - Nov 28 with 1043 views | jack247 | I actually thought Derby looked good. We destroyed them for 15/20 minutes, but they looked a decent team when they got back into it. I’m not surprised Jerry Yates is doing well there. I can see him suiting that type of football.
Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 12:20 - Nov 28 with 1024 views | union_jack | Yes, Derby were certainly better when they realised what they had to do. I made the point a few times last night about our physical and mental fitness. We HAVE to improve on those to get better. Derby didn’t seem to suffer from the physical tiredness at all whereas we were blowing hard and making horrendous passes not even a junior side should make. And cut out the cute play in our own area. Put your laces through the ball, there’s no shame in it. [Post edited 28 Nov 12:21]

Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 12:34 - Nov 28 with 987 views | raynor94 | Got to agree about playing in our own area, it does my head in, I know it's the aim to beat the press, but it's dicing with danger. I posted on Saints doing it the other day and it cost them goals

Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 12:46 - Nov 28 with 966 views | union_jack | There are two things that Williams has taken from Martin. Clearly, playing intricate moves in our own area like a football equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters but without the talent is only going to end in tears. Especially at the fag end of a game when we have points to lose. Secondly, the waiting for a pressing player to get within a ties width if the ball before passing it. I remember the derision this caused when Martin boldly stated that that type of play would sap opponents of energy. Well that didn’t go according to plan yesterday and Vig’s dallying on the ball nearly cost us. Derby were the fittest team leaving the pitch last night without doubt. First class match report by Liam by the way. A ‘warts and all’ account which for me gave a very accurate feel of how the game went.

Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 13:09 - Nov 28 with 926 views | Dr_Winston | Insisting on playing square pegs in round holes for absolutely no reason is a third thing.

Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 13:44 - Nov 28 with 871 views | Fireboy2 | Theres a big difference rayns, the gap between soton / liverpool and derby / swansea is massive. As I've said, if we had played the likes of watford or norwich away and been in the same position we would have lost.
Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 14:27 - Nov 28 with 820 views | RichardO | Didn't it cost Man City goals against Spurs, yes there is a big difference of class between teams in the Premiership and Championship but lots of the same applies. Play in tight areas of the pitch it will cause you problems defensively especially in your defensive half of the pitch. In that first 20mins our passing was crisp and movement was good, they needed to close us down it is then up to us to exploit the gaps elsewhere while ensuring we didn't buckle under pressure. Quite happy for a defender facing his on goal to stifling a move with a kick to row Z but not happy when you can see the length of the pitch looking forward and kicking the ball anywhere as seen late in the game last night there should be better options.. Really can't see the point of Vipotnik running around like a headless chicken when the defender has an ocean of space to pass the ball on to or as the speeding Vipotnik came forward just push it passed him leaving him unable to stop or turn given the speed he is travelling taking him out of the games really needs to be cleverer in his closing down, somebody else did the same looking like an amateur, previously we have seen with Eom closing down in the way they have been asked to do looking just as bad.
Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 14:38 - Nov 28 with 766 views | Whiterockin | The first 25 minutes they didn't press us and that's why we looked so good. From then on they did and closed down the space. 2-0 down at home they had to up their game and did. Sometimes you just have to credit the opposition.
Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 15:55 - Nov 28 with 671 views | onehunglow | Derby were out on their feet and looked demoralised,as did their crowd. The whole point is we allowed them a route back in. With that ludicrous faff at the back, there is always a chance for the opposition. Indeed Larry himself almost gifted a goal in what would have been horrific circumstances Martins very worst legacy lies deep within Williams It is clear as day

Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 16:32 - Nov 28 with 631 views | RichardO | Of course they didn't press us in the first 20mins and of course they had to change and we did move the ball well at times as they struggle to get a foot in the game.Happy to get the win, all through games you would expect it be be nip and tuck it is all about adapting to get the upper hand on teams, are you saying they were poor in the first 20 mins as opposed to us being good, if that is your argument you could say the opposite applied after the 20mins mark , we both know that is not how games pan out. They had to attack because they were 2-0 down, we had to defend because of their pressure, the question should be how do we relieve that pressure and did we do it effectively often enough. We won so is the answer yes but could we have done it better.
Derby County v Swansea City : Match day thread UPDATED ⚽️ on 17:48 - Nov 28 with 533 views | dantheswansman | I am happy i saw our defense deny them for so long and pretty easily We only needed two goals, its three well earned points, can only win a game and we did. This nonsense that Derby were better is absolute insanity, they clearly were not, they couldn't get past our defense and we scored more Yes we could have done a lot of things better but at the end of the day who won?
