Cifuentes gone? on 13:11 - Nov 24 with 2547 views | hoopedmonkey | It looked, to me, that Smyth was pulling up and limped off.
Cifuentes gone? (n/t) on 13:24 - Nov 24 with 2413 views | gazza1 | It would be very silly if the Club got rid of MC......we have been missing at least 5 starters recently and that has hurt us badly because the replacements, including the ex Spurs boy, are not good enough by far. Thought Paal did good when he came on yesterday (not sure why he didn't start tbh). [Post edited 24 Nov 2024 13:28]

Cifuentes gone? on 13:57 - Nov 24 with 2179 views | daveB | that would explain it then
Cifuentes gone? on 13:59 - Nov 24 with 2157 views | daveB | yeah I do accept his options were limited especially if Smyth was injured
Cifuentes gone? on 14:03 - Nov 24 with 2102 views | thehat | Whatever happens including relegation we must not sack Marti. He is an extremely good coach and the players are playing for him. We are in this mess because of injuries and poor recruitment and those will still be there for any new manager. We have just given him a new contract so to release him now will be expensive for a club in our financial position and who the hell in their right mind would want the job at this circus.
Cifuentes gone? on 14:47 - Nov 24 with 1891 views | NorthantsHoop | Still of the mind we stick with Marti and see how it goes, but he will be on very difficult ground if we get soundly beaten at Cardiff and Watford. Ironically in the last few seasons the games against Watford have been either make or break for the season/manager. In the covid season of 2020/21 in the January 2021 Warburton's team with a newly signed Austin and couple of others, big win there after a difficult period. In the Beale period early season 2022, a big win at Watford and we went on a great run until the wheels came off with Beale. In March 2023 the first win for Ainsworth a scrappy 1-0 at home which reversed an awful run of defeats and finally the disastrous first game of the season in 2023/24 with that 4-0 walloping for us at Watford, which pretty much did for Ainsworth in my opinion. So will history repeat itself, if it does, hopefully it will fall Marti's way and we can get a positive result at Watford. Expecting a draw at Cardiff because that is what we are good at this season. Cifuentes gone? on 14:53 - Nov 24 with 1836 views | JamesB1979 | Lloyd was an improvement for sure but then my old mum would have been too for Celar. But Madsen was far better than Morgan.
Cifuentes gone? on 14:54 - Nov 24 with 1822 views | daveB | I've read a few people say Madsen played well, I didn't see that at all, thought he was poor as usual
Cifuentes gone? on 14:57 - Nov 24 with 1784 views | gazza1 | Agreed, thought Morgan lost the ball and gave the ball away nearly every time he touched it.......shame because he has made a decent start.
Cifuentes gone? on 14:57 - Nov 24 with 1782 views | Watford_Ranger | Dozzell syndrome. Has a game where he isn’t either anonymous or noticeably woeful and expectations are so low that people think he’s had a great game. He was ok. Not bad, not good.
Cifuentes gone? on 15:00 - Nov 24 with 1753 views | JamesB1979 | Well firstly he got stuck in more. I know that should be a given for a professional player but it was an improvement on what we’ve seen before. Then he also played some decent passes, think he only lost it once and kept the play moving. Morgan just runs around like a bit of a headless chicken for me and we lost our shape.
Cifuentes gone? on 15:03 - Nov 24 with 1727 views | Northernr | Zan Celar touched the ball 14 times yesterday. One of those was his penalty miss. That is, by some distance, the lowest of any QPR player. Would you like to hazard a guess at who was next lowest?
Cifuentes gone? on 15:07 - Nov 24 with 1690 views | gazza1 | Another statistic!!!! Its what you do with the ball. I cringe about stats!!!! Many mean absolutely FA!!!!
Cifuentes gone? on 15:08 - Nov 24 with 1689 views | JamesB1979 | Well I wasn’t looking at the stats, it was just how I saw the game but I have now. Madsen made 4 key passes and Morgan Nil. Madsen had 37 touches and was playing in an advanced role. Madsen had same number as touches as Field and was on the pitch for less time.
Cifuentes gone? on 15:10 - Nov 24 with 1670 views | BrianMcCarthy | I thought Madsen was ok, played our better passes, and Morgan looked skittish and nervous.
| |
Cifuentes gone? on 15:13 - Nov 24 with 1626 views | JamesB1979 | Yeah how I saw it. Morgan did well against Coventry and Sunderland but since then he’s been poor. Against Boro, he left Varane completely on his own in the middle. And yesterday, he just looked so rushed and no composure. I’m just hoping / praying than this is start of something. To get out of this mess, we need Madsen to be good for us in creativity and goals.
Cifuentes gone? on 15:15 - Nov 24 with 1614 views | G_Ottershaw | who the hell in their right mind would want the job at this circus. - precisely! club's on life support, new stadium is wishful thinking, owners are still following covid protocols and working from home and to top that, you've got to answer to someone who's technical appears to have come from the PlayStation. I would be very apprehensive about coming here.
Cifuentes gone? on 15:15 - Nov 24 with 1610 views | Northernr | You won't like this much either then - Morgan didn't give the ball away every time he had it. 15 passes, 80% accuracy, only Morrison, Madsen and Saito of the starters score better.
Cifuentes gone? on 15:19 - Nov 24 with 1575 views | JamesB1979 | Well Morrison and Saito were definitely 2 of our best players yesterday.
Cifuentes gone? on 15:22 - Nov 24 with 1552 views | Northernr | I really liked Morrison yesterday. I thought he stepped onto the opposition well rather than hanging off and backing off as our defenders are too prone to doing most of the time. He was positive and aggressive. Looked well up for it in the conditions.
Cifuentes gone? on 15:24 - Nov 24 with 1510 views | BrianMcCarthy | Agreed. He also left 'his man' many times to snuff out danger elsewhere. My favourite trait for a defender. Takes courage and integrity.
| |
Cifuentes gone? on 15:28 - Nov 24 with 1449 views | francisbowles | I was particularly concerned when I saw we were playing four right footed defenders. However, the two on the left side, Morrison and Ashby, were better than Cook and Dunne on the right.
Cifuentes gone? on 15:28 - Nov 24 with 1448 views | JamesB1979 | The Morrison performance does show that we have been very unlucky this season. He has surgery just as the JCS goes down injured. Completely disrupts the central defence and in turn midfield with field having to move back.
Cifuentes gone? on 15:29 - Nov 24 with 1439 views | gazza1 | Perhaps it was Ashby who was giving the ball away more often than not, not being at the match and watching on a stream, perhaps it was.
