Celar 15:55 - Nov 23 with 26369 views | andrew1302 | Has there been a worse striker in a QPR shirt? The man is absolutely useless. We have had some poor strikers but i really think he is amongst the worst. I feel sorry for him. He should not have been bought. It is lamb to the slaughter. He is probably trying his best but his best is League 2 and not his fault. Nourry and Belk or whoever are to blame for him.
(No subject) on 23:06 - Nov 23 with 2789 views | loneranger1 | Ruddy 'ell, that's shocking about Madsen (but not entirely surprising). I couldn't see Celar's reaction when he came off, but am surprised he "kicked the dugout to pieces" - really?! I always think, as others have said, that he looks like he'd rather be anywhere else than on the pitch, and would have been happy to escape from another bad performance. Then again, I guess maybe professional pride and the realisation that he really is not good enough for this level may have finally hit him today [Post edited 23 Nov 2024 23:06]

Celar on 23:11 - Nov 23 with 2734 views | DannyPaddox | Anne Frank got the attic and we got the Celar. I’m still not sure who got the worst deal.
Celar on 23:27 - Nov 23 with 2646 views | Markofthegrove | If you bring a foreign striker in, you have to bring them into a decent situation. We are not a coun in a decent situation with the squad around him to allow him to thrive and develop in this league. If Middlesbrough had signed him, he'd have 4 or 5 goals by now.
Celar on 23:52 - Nov 23 with 2537 views | The_Beast1976 | Your last paragraph - absolutely no chance. This fella is quite simply not capable of playing at this level, nor the one below in all likelihood. Lazy, disinterested, and lacking in ability. Be lucky if good enough for L2

Celar on 07:31 - Nov 24 with 2130 views | SimplyNico | Presumably in the data only analysis that the club carried out, they should have looked at where the Swiss Super League stands in the UEFA coefficient rankings - https://www.uefa.com/nationalassociations/uefarankings/country/?year=2025. The answer is 16th, marginally better than the SPL. Relatively, from a data perspective, Celar is therefore considerably more expensive than Dykes and a very considerably worse player.
Celar on 08:27 - Nov 24 with 2006 views | davman | That's data, but clearly not the data our bargain basement tool called "Football Manager" uses. Interesting insight to the reactions of those payers being subbed. I don't actually think Madsen played badly at all yesterday; certainly signs that he and Varane are getting there.. NINETEEN games without a goal for Zan though and absolutely no sign that he is a footballer. The data was certainly corrupt there...

Celar on 08:45 - Nov 24 with 1938 views | Northolt_Rs | Handing the ball to him to take the penalty was a pub team standard level of professionalism. It’s incredible how poor this team is at everything. Keeper dives to his right early and Celar manages to completely miss a wide open goal from 8 yards out. He’s just completely hopeless. It’s like somebody off the street has blagged his way into playing #9 for a Championship football club. Bloke is fkn pony. Cifuentes cannot start this dud again and hopefully we can find a Nourry/Belk equivalent at some other poorly run club to offload him in January. 🙏🏻

Celar on 08:52 - Nov 24 with 1917 views | stevec | Was funny that Madsen hit the first man with his corner to much groaning, the ball came straight back to him and somehow he managed to do exactly the same with his follow up cross. Immediately got dragged off and was still walking round the pitch as Saito put in a corner exactly as it should be, and we scored. As you say, looked down the line as we celebrated and Madsen standing there was a picture to behold.
Celar on 09:11 - Nov 24 with 1855 views | BrianMcCarthy | Very honest of you to say that, Monkey. I can see both sides of it. Cifuentes has said that we have three penalty takers based on practice and their track records, and that Celar is one of them. He also rightly points out that Celar is an International player. At the time of the peno, there's no way Cifuentes can go on the pitch and give the ball to Madsen, even if he wanted to. It's up to the players to sort it out. I can see the logic of giving the ball to Celar: if he scores it helps him and - crucially - it helps the team if our striker gets off the mark. I'm not sure I'd have personally chosen it if I was (God help us) involved with Rangers, but I'm not going to say that I was screaming blue murder either when I saw him with the ball.

Celar on 09:14 - Nov 24 with 1822 views | dmm | It was a cruel irony yesterday that the club celebrated Arthur Longbottom's time with us. He was a one in three striker and top scorer three years in a row between 56/57 and 58/59. When discussing our worst strikers I always think of Mike Sheron who was an expert at spooning the ball over the bar. But just checking I see even he managed 19 goals in 63 appearances.

Celar on 10:35 - Nov 24 with 1583 views | Wegerles_Stairs | Celar did take a decent penalty against Luton in the cup. I still can't believe the booing though - he didn't mean to miss! Also, nice to see Sam and Koki commiserating with him afterwards. Good team spirit. [Post edited 24 Nov 2024 10:35]

Celar on 10:49 - Nov 24 with 1530 views | Hayesender | I remember sitting at the riverside stadium back in 2010 just before Warnock took over, watching Tamas Priskin and Marcus Bent do their worst impressions of being professional strikers, thinking to myself, "well it can't get worse than this". Turns out it can

Celar on 11:29 - Nov 24 with 1396 views | WadR | Feel for him on a human level - his body language pre match and during the game is that of someone who has absolutely no confidence. Which I think is even more reason not to give him the penalty! Really is like playing with 10 with him on the pitch. I can forgive the fact he's low in confidence and maybe even the fact half his touches ballooned off him to opposition players if he was working hard but I'm not sure I've ever seen a QPR striker hide quite as much as him. There was a point in the first half where Varane won the ball on the left touchline in our half with only Celar ahead of him. Celar made no attempt to offer - either by going short or running in behind. He was genuinely hiding behind one of the Stoke CBs. Varane rightly gave him a bollocking for it. His pressing is half arsed, he can't jump - he looks terrified of any sort of physical contact. I know Cannon has cost X millions but look at the way he battled for 50/50s, held the ball up, scored a beautifully taken goal.
Celar on 11:40 - Nov 24 with 1354 views | dmm | Cannon is actually on loan at Stoke from Leicester. I know loans are not free but given we paid £2m for Celar, a loan of Cannon's quality would have been a sensible use of the little money we have.
Celar on 11:58 - Nov 24 with 1285 views | ARudd | “Insisting he take it” would be way too impolite for Madsen. He spends his afternoons saying “after you” to all the oppo players….
Celar on 12:12 - Nov 24 with 1245 views | BostonR | I think he totalled 7 touches in the whole game including the penalty miss. Marti was right to sub him and he shouldn’t start while Lloyd is fit and willing to run about for the cause. Hopefully, Celar will get a loan back to Switzerland at Xmas - Marti is done with him as are the fans.
Celar on 13:14 - Nov 24 with 3101 views | Wegerles_Stairs | I feel sorry for him which is why we shouldn't be booing him. Ignoring the merits or failings of the Swiss League, the biggest problem is his lack of physicality. Anyone can miss a penalty but from that first game against West Brom, we've seen that he is not a physical old school number nine, which is what we need playing with one up top. That's clearly not his fault and is down to whoever recruited him to play in this system. And the change when Alfie came on and started roughing up their defenders was night and day.
Celar on 13:21 - Nov 24 with 3042 views | gazza1 | Didn't make the game yesterday thanks to TfL but watched the 2nd half on a link when I eventually got home. I have also seen him several times when I have been able to get to the ground. I do not know why we are making excuses about playing up front on his own, not suited to the physicality and it goes on!!!! The bottom line is he missed a penalty yesterday, that is 100% his fault but it happens, however much of his other play is or has been very limited indeed, pretty poor actually. I doubt he will ever be good enough to play Championship football in this country.
