Celar 15:55 - Nov 23 with 28773 viewsandrew1302

Has there been a worse striker in a QPR shirt? The man is absolutely useless. We have had some poor strikers but i really think he is amongst the worst. I feel sorry for him. He should not have been bought. It is lamb to the slaughter. He is probably trying his best but his best is League 2 and not his fault. Nourry and Belk or whoever are to blame for him.

Sealy was OK especially 82-83, though I have to say his miss against Barnsley... December 1981 was something to behold...........still we won 1-0 evetually n it was pretty much the only game on in London

Maybe try Lloyd from the start but I think we have to keep our expectations of him low and I'd be surprised if he'd be good for anything after an hour.

Agree Sealy was OK, very fast forward but tended to rush at chances rather than cooly slotting away, in comparison to Clive Allen who was coolness personified when taking his chances.

I should not do, but feel a bit sorry for Celar to me he looks like a player who does not want to be at QPR and has somehow landed here and probably wants out and go back to the Swiss league or some other central European league. Best option for both club and player is to get him loaned out back to a European club in January and see if we can get someone else in.

Think are expectations are as low as you can get 😉

We sold Armstrong to buy Celar. After Shamrock Rovers share, it was supposedly a straight in and out at that level of money.

Armstrong or Celar? Your call (well, it was Christian’s…)

But a lot to do with Armstrong.

Steve Slade or Dean Coney.

The grass is always greener.

Was it not a case of selling Armstrong as he wouldn't extend his contract? Had we held on to him I wouldn't bank on him having scored more than a goal or two. Celar's a dud but Armstrong also not the answer.

There have been a few worse:

Leroy Griffiths - industrial and was lauded because of one game against one team
Sammy Koejoe - forgettable
Alessandro Pellicori - THIS was the worst striker in a QPR shirt
Rob Steiner - unremarkable is to put it mildly
Ross Weare - left QPR and went...nowhere
Michel Ngonge - the typical big lump up top

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

Steiner was decent, scored goals and plenty of one on ones, career ruined by injury, should certainly not be in that list

In fairness to Leroy Griffiths he came from Hampton & Richmond Borough in a time we literally had no money and were trying to sign anyone from anywhere. And he still scored more competitive goals than Celar has so far.

Today's penalty miss, plus his record so far, was the sort of thing that virtually destroys a player.

On a human level I feel a bit sorry for him.

Yep. Agree with this . The moment Madsen throws the ball to Celar, Cook should be stepping in .

Said it before on here lots of times but Cook leads by his defending which for the most part you cannot fault . But there are many more strings to the bow of being a skipper and he looks disinterested in all of these.
He’s the best we have , don’t get me wrong but I wish he’d step up in other ways too .

Vast majority?

Some perhaps . Most had not really heard of him .
Many now wish we still hadn’t

If he doesn't want/never wanted to be here, why did he f*cking sign then? Not to mention (yet again) what we were thinking ourselves!

I think Celar's enjoyed a lot of tolerance from the supporters up to now, but Marti needs to take him out, whatever the poverty of our back-up. If he doesn't, I'm afraid he's part of the problem.

He scored a paltry 6 in a year, and was injured as often as he was fit. For some weird reason, though, Gerry had a soft spot for him. Managed barely 100 games in his entire career before getting definitively crocked at 27. Pull up trees he did not!

Bloke is front of me (not a regular) screamed at him that he a piece of shit. He called Jimmy Dunne the same thing after their goal . Mrs Taxiboy went with me today otherwise I dont think I could have kept quiet.

Yet he looked like John Charles compared to the bloke up front for us now

Very much agree, I was gutted for him. Terrible penalty, must have killed what was left of his confidence.

On separate note, I thought Madsen was the penalty taker?

We saw the moment Marti snapped with Celar today .

Being caught offside by simply being lazy enough to NOT get himself back on side after we’d humped another aimless ball forward was the final straw for MC.
He went utterly bonkers on the touch line and immediately waved for Alfie Lloyd to come back and get stripped off .

He took both of Celar and Madsen off as a bit of a statement to the DOF too. Enough is enough .
Expensive or not they are not doing it and I’ll play the youngsters .

Celar came off and kicked the dugout to pieces and whilst Madsen traipsed around the pitch after being subbed , a miracle happened…we scored.

He barely even glanced over his shoulder and showed zero emotion .
We are bottom of the league …your teammates have just scored!?!)

Nothing .

Tells you everything in my opinion .

He appears confident but it's not happening..

It's not a time to abuse the man though

How bad must Kolli be. He can't even get on the bench

Adam Czerkas and Stefan Moore were both shockingly bad ... but I'd probably have them above Celar (just).

At the time, I was welcoming Celar taking the pen… the perfect way to get his tally underway, give him some confidence.

It didn’t work, the gamble didn’t pay off.

Drop him and start Alfie, at least there is passion and desire there.
