Certainly a harsh decision but we need to understand the hand ball rule as it now applies
Previously there had to be a deliberate attempt to handle. That is not the case now. A hand in an “ unnatural position “ that comes into contact with the ball can lead to a penalty kick rightly or wrongly. Especially if the referee had viewed that it’s prevented the attacking team from a goal scoring opportunity.
I’m a big Grimes fan as most Swans fans are but I’m sorry to say this wasn’t his finest moment. It was very harsh but he gave the referee a decision to make unfortunately.
The rule needs reviewing. It’s a bit of a nonsense really and there’s far too much inconsistency and ambiguity around it.

Squad depth. There’s a trend of games slipping away from us after the substitutions are made. With the exception of Bianchini for Vipotnik, we are invariably bringing on weaker players. Maybe I don’t notice it because I’m not familiar with other teams players, but it rarely seems to affect our opponents.
Yesterday we clearly set up for the draw towards the end and it cost us. Milwall was the opposite.

The lack of goals scored comes down to: 1) a lack of decent crosses from wingers/wingbacks & thru-balls centrally (Key provided some yesterday, and Tymon occasionally provides a few; Ronald should provide more than he does; and, whoever is playing the ACM, needs to provide more & better thru-balls); 2) lack of competent finishers (we've all discussed finding additional recruits, but why not try some of our younger players, e.g., Wilson, Nzingo, or a different #9, say Ronald up top?).
Here's an idea: Play Ronald in the #9 position, and Govea out wide in his spot. Enough of this insanity of playing the same players and expecting a different outcome!

I disagree. We're playing one half of the pitch well, the defensive half. We're bottom of the table in goals scored with 11 goals so far. A reknown national team coach & player told me once that average strikers score about 1 in 10 shots on goal. That's an average striker. My point is (In My Opinion) it's obvious that not enough decent service is being provided to our supposed average goal scorers.

Please define "proper" striker. Both Vipo & Cullen have shown in the past that they can score. We need better & consistent creativity in providing through-balls & crosses into the box for "proper" strikers to score, imo.

I've posted the stat before, and it's worth repeating.
The top strikers (like Haaland) generally have a chance conversion rate of about 35-40%. That means they convert roughly a third of the goalscoring opportunities that they get, and given the quality of the players around them, that's quite a bit more better opportunities than Vipo and Cullen will have, and with all due respect to them both, they're nowhere near that level.
Our forwards are lucky if they get one decent chance per game at present.

Sometimes a striker has got make things happen, hold the ball up or even cause defenders to break into a sweat, he doesn't, and of course, he has the unwanted knack of being at the wrong place at the right time.
Thanks, Doc! Precisely my point. Comparing Swans attempted shots vs. opponents is like comparing apples to oranges. If the service isn't good enough quality, then the chance of scoring is reduced tremendously. Yes, sometimes the decisions are wrong on the striker's or attacker's part, when an extra pass is needed. And, the opposite could also be true as when a shot should have been taken instead of an improperly placed or timed pass. Swans need to provide better service to their main goal scorers.

No matter what the handball law there will always be an element of interpretation down to the referee. Never in my lifetime (yet) have I ever witnessed a referee give a decision like that to us in the 92nd minute to decide a game. A big call and it appeared that he waited for the linesman’s view who was far further away from the incident than he was. The rule needs a review for sure but refereeing standards are just atrocious & inconsistent
