Darling and Cabango 22:20 - Nov 5 with 6706 views | union_jack | Are they playing for a contract here? Or somewhere else? Because they certainly are getting noticed. Nothing less than criminal if even one of them goes.

Darling and Cabango on 07:39 - Nov 7 with 1608 views | Dr_Winston | Perhaps the only sensible post on the thread. Players can't be forced to sign contracts. Yes, talks should have started sooner and both sold if attempts to come to agreement failed rather than lose either on a free, but Darling in particular could probably earn a lot more elsewhere. Cabango I suspect has topped out in the Championship. With both however, I don't recall much of a clamour from anyone six months ago to get them tied down. It's amusing to see how highly rated Harry Darling is now. Wasn't all that long ago a vast number of people thought he was a rubbish defender who couldn't read the ball at all. In truth his ability was always obvious, but no defenders have ever looked good under Russy. I'd be curious to see how Nathan Wood would have come on under Williams, who in fairness to him has become a better defensive organiser. [Post edited 7 Nov 9:58]

| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Darling and Cabango on 19:02 - Nov 7 with 1407 views | swancity | “ No defenders have ever looked good under Russy “😂 Apart from Ryan Manning, Kyle Naughton, Nathan Wood, Jake Bidwell, Harry Darling, Ben Cabango and even Latibeaudiere certainly looked good at times too. Constantly saying the same boring things over and over again doesn’t make them any more accurate or factual.

Darling and Cabango on 19:09 - Nov 7 with 1398 views | Whiterockin | The fact is when posters dislike a player or coach they will never say anything good about them and continue to criticise even when it's not due. When praise is due, they are still negative saying it should have been done before. You can see it coming and it's laughable.
Darling and Cabango on 19:16 - Nov 7 with 1373 views | swancity | Laughable indeed. And the clueless ones have the most to say. As in life in general I suppose.

Darling and Cabango on 20:25 - Nov 7 with 1309 views | onehunglow | I’m not sure why yiu seem to have changed of late but let me say this I believe Brines to be a god awful captain. He is overrated He has been responsible for the dross we have seen on the pitch He has sone very well out of our club when others ,more useful ,haven’t . However, last game he was outstanding . Terrific ,he led and was effective . Please don’t go down the route other posters do of storing up comments they dint like that are replicated years later just because they have seen their arse . It’s all about the now Right now, Grimes is very good No poster should feel intimidated or pressured into not expressing his views. I can tell you many view this site but would never post as the insults would get under their skin or simply annoy them. Many O have spoken to in my lifetimes simply laugh when I asked them if they posted. Some need to wind their necks in or simply butt out

Darling and Cabango on 20:54 - Nov 7 with 1254 views | raynor94 | Perhaps the best centre half pairing in the division

Darling and Cabango on 21:04 - Nov 7 with 1249 views | max936 | They play very well together they seem to know what each other is going to do, there's a word for it, but it escapes me at the moment. Anyway they're a great paring if they go they'll be a massive loss, yes they can be replaced, but it'll take time for another pair of CB's to gel together, if at all. [Post edited 7 Nov 21:05]

Darling and Cabango on 22:17 - Nov 7 with 1174 views | union_jack | This is my hope. Maybe negotiations in earnest have not started because of the change at the top. Hopefully the £20m extra investment touted will keep them both here and add some well needed players🙏🤞

Darling and Cabango on 22:26 - Nov 7 with 1152 views | max936 | Be nice steady for a while I think, can't see them chucking a big wedge into the club eminently. Hopefully the crowds will improve now, fans will be excited by this news, I'm gonna make an effort at some point now they've gone. Hope I never hear of them again!

Darling and Cabango on 00:53 - Nov 8 with 1077 views | nantywatcher | I think the playing staff knew about the changes at the top, there has bee been such a positive vibe about the last 2 games I would be more surprised than not if the 2 were not all tied within the next few weeks.
Darling and Cabango on 00:58 - Nov 8 with 1070 views | nantywatcher | Well done for posting that although as a massive admirer of our captain, I see nothing different in his performances over the last 3 years. He is a class act, and fa's the respect of his team mates, which should be any captain's priority.
Darling and Cabango on 08:08 - Nov 8 with 971 views | RichardO | That centrehalf pairing had to be given time to develop into role they now work in and was one of the first one that Martin used them in when Darling and Wood first came to the club with Wood playing alongside them as a right back while also using Naughton to help inexperienced players at Championship level. Fast forward to this season, different variationsof line ups affected by injuries, positional changes, swaps of pairings deemed necessary, young loans introductions into the back line and many different formations, disastrous cup line ups, how many season until this one for a bit of continuity to enable the formation of the partnerships, stability and experience along the back four. Darling made a statement of his defensive improvement with his Naughton covering tackle which matched any that we have seen Cabango completed in the many number of years he has been here. We have been subjected to a defensive formation that has wilted constantly when put under pressure, this pairing seem now able to cope most aerially barrages and exerted pressure with help from our Goalie, the fullbacks and the midfield when it is functioning properly, able to repel most teams, yes there will be slip ups but not with the regularity previously seen. I see this defensive stability as one of the reasons that has forced a much improved Grimes further up the pitch where he needs to be more often, we have seen that with better positioning and descion making by defenders they both can cover many of the counter attacks that have plagued us for the last three seasons which is why I mentioned Darling's tackle, he was initially in the right position, he saw the danger, reacted to the situation quickly, made the right decision and as is the case with tall players after a slow start in a foot race he was able to build quite a bit of pace up he cover the ground to make the tackle, all down to experience, he knew Naughton or even Tymon in other games, would not have been able to get back and covered the forward move by the full back with excellent defensive work. As has been said before one of the reason players have moved on is because of the loss or a manager hopefully with the changes going on at the club, a manager given as much time as previous ones, a good run of form and long term signing of good players, they may be seen to them as good reasons to stay.

I believe he has been misused for too long He does show class but he hasn’t articulated it as best he could. Anyway,we are where we are And as of now,he is showing up well.

Darling and Cabango on 21:26 - Nov 8 with 559 views | SullutaCreturned | And yet our defence as a whole looked very creaky a lot of the time and we continually made stupid mistakes gifting the oppo goals as we tried to play Martin's "way". It wasn't poor defenders, it was a poor choice of strategy and tactics. Regardless, Cabango and Darling are looking good now and hopefullky the change at the top will see the needed improvements in acquisitions, contract talks and player retention.
Darling and Cabango on 21:39 - Nov 8 with 528 views | onehunglow | Martin, imo, just killed several careers by sheer arrogance . Cabango provably the worst, being told to play full back whilst Grimes strolled about as CH It was laughable I might have mentioned this before RM left a legacy which we still suffer from Duff was a dead duck from the start Anyway,it’s gone

Darling and Cabango on 21:41 - Nov 8 with 521 views | KeithHaynes | Martin ! You really need to get over him and his Premier League exploits. You are allowing things you ‘believe’ to be negative creep into your dialogue when really you should be delighted at this moment in time. Remove the dark clouds, they only inspire dark thoughts.
