It's about the discrepancy in pay between grades rather than the amount itself.

TfL / LU want to introduce 100+ pay bands which means that each pay band will have to negotiate pay separately, and also means that a cap will be applied. They currently have 7 or something. They know that complicating the pay structure makes negotiating difficult, and makes it easier for the company to apply pay caps to the lowest paid.

For some people in the current lowest band (£22,000 pa), they haven't had a pay rise in 12 years.

Who the fck survives on 22k in London nowadays?

"following talks over pay"

"a significantly improved offer"

"Aslef says it’s reasonably happy with the pay offer but it wants to discuss moving to a four-day week in line with other operators"

Just remember kids.... its NEVER about more money and more days off.

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Not to Addinall of this board , he is in his 88th year & coming to his first game in nearly 2 years on tuesday all the way from North Norfolk .
Good luck to all the underground staff , strange how when some rich sod hives a few million off to an offshore acount to avoid paying tax or just plain leaes the country for a tax haven they are generally considered clever but some hard working transport staff want paying properly or better working conditions they are branded as greedy .

Assuming ASLEF strrike, which I understand is unlikely now:

• Thursday 7 November: No London Underground services are expected to run
• Tuesday 12 November: Severe disruption is expected on London Underground services. Any services that do run are likely to start later and finish earlier than normal
• All other days: London Underground services are expected to operate as normal, but some services may be affected by planned works

None of the other services will be on strike during this period. Please be aware that:

• Some DLR, London Overground (including Night Overground) and Elizabeth line services may be unable to stop at certain stations where they also serve London Underground lines. This is due to possible station closures
• As customers seek alternative routes to the London Underground, other transport services and roads will be extremely busy and journeys may be subject to delays.
