i hear all if this stuff about Williams and his similarities to Martin in stubbornness to keeping to playong his way...yet at Notts County he set up 3-4-2-1...differently to his approach here...though he does look to push the full backs up.

Maybe folks would prefer we went more direct?
We have list to injury a player in Eom who could make a difference...Vip is only just settling in Im sure withba few more games his scoring will come and confidence too.

I would be more worried if we were not creating chances.

Well yes,more direct
Like this
Captain has ball at his feet 20 yards out.
Instead of passing it sideways or backwards ,pass it forward into the box and ina manner that gives our striker a chance .
Then, practise corners so that they are meaningful and not going through motions .
Tymon is now another who has been instructed to pass it backwards when he is a decent crosser of a ball ,or at least he was.
Williams is ruining our players ,mediocre as they might be .

Our corners were a little more inventive on Saturday.....and yes I agree Grimes could do more about getting the ball forwards...sometimes his lack of a right foot prevents that as he has to turn to postion himslef to use his left..so maybe its time Luke rested him and tried Franco there with eothet Peart Harris or Abdullai ahead of him.

Morning,
As I say,the time has come. We are now is dire straights . Williams looks lost. He sounds forlorn . He is not motivating .
Grimes has been a terrific pro but he needs time out NOW. I doubt he would sulk and would support the lads . It’s not fair on him to build the whole team around him .
Franco ,I thought, was unbelievable . He gets whacked then gets back into it . The most in Portuguese player ever . Most are head working ,diving, screaming cheats . His efforts led to the biggest roar of the afternoon .
And he gets subbed

There was nothing wrong with the corners on Saturday. We varied the taker, angle of delivery and where it was played too. The corners in the main were excellent.

They are better but not excellent at all.

I stated the following outside of the Foum: "Williams is sending a message to the Swans Academy that he has more confidence in other club's training and personnel than Swansea's Academy Program's. That is so sad! If the current owners really want to cut costs, then just get rid of the Academy, its coaches, players, and other support persons, and just look to the market for players."

I should have added to my last sentence by saying, ...because very seldom are academy players given senior team opportunities, so why have the program? Why put money into a program if the senior team manager keeps ignoring the potential talent he has on hand?

Luke, just give the youngsters 1st team opportunities. Parker, Nzingo, Govea, Wilson, Lloyd, Lissah. Try playing Abdulai more centrally because he's not a wingback.

Parker and Wilson have been injured. I'm sure Govea has as well? Nzingo has only recently made a mark on the U21s. I'm sure they'll be given a go if they keey performing

Hopefully Parker is over any injury issues, Williams has been very sensible in dealing with injuries not rushing injury hit players back in to action.
Last season a tenacious Parker was given a lot of quick possession and caused a lot of problems, in one game he was up against a good fullback and he even caused him problems winning a good field position and a number of corners one of which we scored from. The game he struggled in was when Abdulai played rightback and although he had a good game did not supply quick ball to Parker choosing to move forward into the space which the team had worked instead of getting the ball away quick enough. While making good ground ran into congestion in the way we have seen Cooper, Tymon, Walsh and more recently Key if you close the spaces you end up with congested areas and don't allow the wing to take advantage of taking balls while travelling at pace.

Hope Parker return is not affected by slow ball into him.

Yes, Parker had an injury & then got sick, but he should be over his illness. Govea, Nzingo, and Wilson played today vs. Cardiff's U-21. Lost 0-1.

It's a strange one with Wilson who I feel is closest to a first team call up. Played the first 45 minutes last game and second 45 minutes yesterday, not ready for a full u21s game yet? Could they be monitorering his recovery from injury very carefully and he is not up to full match fitness yet.

Haven't seen a lot of the U21s but it does seem as the team changes regularly from game to game which while giving a number of players development time does it stops that building of relationships on the field between players, that understanding between players that make the team click rather than a team whose performances and results are very erratic. Yes players need game time and injuries need to be dealt with properly but is the continuous changing
players mean they are expected to stick to strict playing orders which really stifles different qualities that players can bring to a team in different positions. All for players being ad14aptable getting a better understanding of the game as a whole but don't want some of their unique skills lost.

The team only normally changes on availability, injuries ect. Substitutions are as normal around the 60 minute mark onwards unless there is an injury, football is now a multi substitution game. The Wilson situation in the last couple of games is unusual.

Be that as it may, but substitutions often have a detrimental effect and disrupt rather than enhance
Why or why aren’t players left alone .
Franco being subbed weakens us instantly
We lose energy

I don't see how I disagree with you when we are discussing the u21s on a academy option thread.
