That's the point of that run. He creates space for the 10 through the centre, or the ball is passed to him.
Neither happen due to a lack of quality. We are simply not creating clear cut chances.
I sit in the Upper Loft right behind the goal, so I have good view. Celar is definitely making the run.
The crossing was not good today, it was awful, again. Aimless balls into the box, no one being picked out. Even our goal was through it being deflected!

It's not the lack of service - or at least, not just the lack of service. He sits in between the two oppo centre-backs most of the time and unless you're an exceptional striker you're getting the square root of fùck all in that position.
I saw him running the line you spotted and it's a clever line a) if you win the header (hmmm) and b) there's someone running on to the flick.
He might be a good striker but he's hiding harder than Where's Wally at the moment.

He was abysmal 3-5 yards of everything, weak, one paced, no anticipation ,never followed in on long shots, no hunger, no movement. I'm struggling to think of worse in the last 25 years. Would love him to succeed can only think we bought blind on the basis of international caps and Swiss league goals. If you told me he was the 2nd choice Faroe Islands striker I might understand Can see him being loaned back to somewhere in Europe. Would love to know from any of the armchair scouts where and how he has actually had success in Switzerland

I disagree . Hate digging out individuals not least because it often bites you in the arse but... That was a cowardly performance tonight from Celar . If you are not getting the service the least you can you is rattle into a defender or two . he ducked out of challenge after challenge When the ball is played up to him , he looks at the opposition player not the ball anticipating the hit , I can see it so can the Ref so if Celar does win the ball he concedes a free kick . He looks like a striker , has the build of one and runs like one but at the moment IMO thats where it ends . Love to be proved wrong ..

He offered absolutely nothing tonight. Not one ball up to him stuck. Frey is miles better. Most stuck with him on Saturday and he’s a physical bastard. Celar looks like he wants to avoid physical contact. Even his charging down of the keeper looked like he wanted to get out of the way of the ball.
He has no strength. He’s not quick. His touch isn’t much good. And he has Dykes/Washington levels of anticipation in the box. He had to get on the end of that second Smyth ball across the face.
I’m sure he’s low on confidence, and I know it’s a new league and takes time to settle. But he is not showing anything currently: ability or desire. From what we have seen to date, I think Kelman might be better than him. I don’t think his level is any higher.

Much like Madsen, the least you can do when you know the game is passing you by after a long run of the games passing you by is compete. Smash someone if you have to. It’s not like he’s playing against Maldini and he’s given that defence the easiest game they’ll have all season.

Smyth pinged in 2 world class crosses that was begging for a striker to get on the end of He had the service but had the anticipation of a dead slug Watch the goal Celar is trotting towards goal whilst Morgan is sprinting towards the goal Celar is another terrible signing if you compare the Coventry forwards to him it’s night and day they had power pace and frightening turn of movement We are bang in trouble this year if do not get a decent striker in Lloyd when he came on was a headless chicken but at least he put himself about
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

I know he's basically playing against the dog + duck here, but it's annoying watching him score all these goals. He obviously, knows where the back of the net is. Perhaps, the championship is just too high a level for him. However, realistically, how many goals can you see QPR scoring like this? Because our build up play is so slow, most of our chances were just coming from crosses in the box where most, if not all, of their defenders were back. Still think he's rubbish btw.

The defending is dreadful. Not sure what central defenders do in Swiss league but they never in the middle of the box. Most of those goals he has so much space. Only the header at the end was a goal under pressure.
Also not a lot of fans there and not like Loftus Road where the fans are up close and personal. When we did so well in the lockdown season I thought wait till this lot play in front of a crowd. And some were noticeably worse. Definitely think some players get squeaky bum time when the fans turn up in numbers. Football version of stage fright.
Oh and just one other thing all his penalties were in the same place.
Predictable won't wash with well prepared defenders and goalkeepers. The power of the unexpected needs to be coached into his game too.
At the moment he fails on every aspect of his game.
Alfie Lloyd is raw but he is invested in the club and tries his best. Celar is playing like a man that wants to be transferred elsewhere. He even looks disinterested.
Celar was shite and has been since he got here, but anyone thinking Alfie Lloyd is the answer is just romanticising the need for a youth team player to break through. He needed to be at his current level, which is a L2 team on loan.
The same people think Kolli shoyld be given a chance and maybe that is true based on Lloyd and Celar being the other option, but I suspect he'll be out of his depth too. As great as Frey this season is, our striker options have gone backwards since last season and last season they were abysmal.
Relegation standard when Frey is not there and we can't rely on him to be for all season. That is 100% on the recruitment team.
Your last paragraph is how I see it totally. May probably want a way out, this club and league is not for him and a transfer or loan back to Switzerland or similar type leagues is what he really wants. Jobi McAnuff on Sky last night called him out, saying he was ineffective and not at this level so far, with only 12 touches in the game, sort of says it all.

12 touches! How as a professional sportsman do you let that happen. Go looking for the ball, make something happen. Do something!! To just sit between 2 defenders and let the game pass you by is criminal. Get rid

Celar has a remarkable knack of being 5 yards away from where the ball is all of the time, always wrong side and on the odd occasion he gets it he gives it away.
He's now in the Lyndon Dykes/Macually Bonne/Conor Washington club of he'd be better in a 2 or he'd be good if we created chances for him but when we do he's on his heels and doesn't react
Whatever data we use to sign our strikers it needs an update

Comparing Dykes to Bonne & Washington is classic LfW click bait,
Downgrading on Dykes who was a key part in keeping us up these last 2 seasons could be something we come to regret.
I haven't given up on Celar yet but Smyth smashing early crosses 10 yards ahead of anyone & Chair playing like a PlayStation Footballef running around with his head down is a Playbook we have seen too often.
I honestly believe I could coach and improve Chair & Smyth to play with their heads up to look for respectively the early & not so early pass.

There are still quite a few of Smyth's crosses it where he needs to time and weight them better. He's been getting better of late, but still no point flashing it across the box and gesturing like you just put it on a plate.
Was only watching on a dodgy stream last night but it looked like they generally were good and Celar's flat footedness really was the issue.

80% sounds and looked high to me tbh, but fair enough.
I suppose it's about those two doing better with that 20% or more, which they need to. Celar could chuck a leg out at least, throw himself in the net or something shirley?
