Scouting 08:42 - Oct 6 with 3585 views | Gloucs_R | Have we bought these players purely on the back of analytics or do you think we've actually scouted them?

Scouting on 15:03 - Oct 6 with 3263 views | 1JD | Nourry went all in a recruitment strategy driven by statistics. And that’s what happens when you’ve got a leader at the helm who is completely green. The less you know, the more confident you are. We’ve gone full circle. We’ve gone from the Les era where UK players were prioritised, incidentally after our other data-driven, European trolley dash failed (see Sylla, Polter, Chery, Borisiuk, Wzolek) To another data-driven European, trolly dash. Which is also doomed to fail. “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” (George Santayana)

Scouting on 18:02 - Oct 7 with 2554 views | Hooping_Mad | Les went to Columbia under the guise of scouting. Results speak for themselves there. Absolutely wasn't a free holiday. Data driven recruiting from European leagues has always been hit and miss I totally agree, what amazes me is the fact that we completely forgot to prioritise going after players who could physically compete. If you want to play on the deck in the championship you need 5 or 6 units to even have a chance. I think Madsen & Verane were the units brought in, trouble is Madsen is not looking suited to the league. Jurys out on Verane Colback is another unit who can get physical but he plays in the same position as the other 2, truth is we have no muscle out wide and until Illy is back little success and even then I think a lot of teams have worked him out. Unbalanced and unsuited to the system is my take on it. [Post edited 7 Oct 18:03]

Scouting on 18:54 - Oct 7 with 2437 views | Pindarus | Analytics worked for Brighton and Brentford. Perhaps we need lessons.
Scouting on 19:30 - Oct 7 with 2362 views | WestonsuperR | Surely the club must have done their due diligence and watched these signings fairly significantly, particularly as we have previous little budget. Goes without saying that we need the right balance of data and scouting rather than one or the other. Worrying!
Scouting on 21:10 - Oct 7 with 2229 views | daveB | They use very different type of analytics to what any other club have, the resources that Brighton have are the envy of Europe in that area. Brentford are similar
Scouting on 21:21 - Oct 7 with 2139 views | lassel | Brentford also used a rack em and stack em strategy across Europe that is not possible anymore. For every 1 gem they found they had 10 that came in, played for the EDS and were released again.
Scouting on 22:12 - Oct 7 with 2037 views | NewBee | Maybe a few years back, but many of the big clubs (at least) have caught up, not least because afaik they've recruited some people from BHA and BFC etc Liverpool are esp. clued-up apparently.
Scouting on 22:15 - Oct 7 with 2028 views | wombat | I belive the version we are using is the free version to get you to signup for the working decent version , you go on expecting some Russian super model and you end up with Gemma Collins

Scouting on 22:18 - Oct 7 with 2009 views | NewBee | Don't know the figures, but I'd be prepared to bet that BFC's rate of attrition/development compares with the best in the market. In fact, it is likely to be better than most, simply because they still don't have the resources of virtually all of the other clubs in the Prem, so can't afford wastage.
Scouting on 13:20 - Oct 8 with 1708 views | Gloucs_R | Sorry, might sound like a really stupid question but with using analytics does that mean we don't scout the players at all? Now call me old fashioned but......
