I'm not sure we would come straight back up, under any manager. P & S rules and poor player development mean that unless we are flush with cash after making a big sale, we simply can't bring top quality players into the first team squad.

It's brutal.

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

FFS we lose two games in a row and suddenly we're relegation fodder??

The knee jerkery by some fans this morning is truly astounding.

How many bed wetting threads do we need??????

edit: and, again..... going down is never an option. Why always the immediate assumption we'd just simply come straight back up? Brum seem to be making a good fist of it so far (but they should do having broken the divisional transfer record by a massive amount) but many clubs have taken quite a few seasons to get back up again, took us 3 seasons last time. Many don't.

Every single poster wetting the bed will simultaneously say we need to be smarter, buy low sell high, shop in lower leagues / abroad, and then - when the inevitable difficult period comes with that strategy - be willing to rip it all up for a dinosaur manager who will play 442 sign stalwarts and hit the big man.

It is a massive, and underplayed by many, reason why we’re allergic to sticking to a strategy - our child like whimsical owners don’t exist in a vacuum, they feed off those fans’ sentiments (Uncle T especially back in the day).

Well, I still think we'll be ok. It's totally piss off but I see enough to keep the suicidal posts at bay.

Well said, that man. We're light years ahead compared to where we were this time last year, even if the points tally is about the same.

Surely a message board is to express and debate options with other fans, no matter what the personal view is? Personally I expected a slow start but am a little concerned.

Still think we're lightyears ahead after yesterday's 'performance'?

4 games in a row is it not. And to teams considered beatable, two of which have been promoted from the league below.

We’re now bottom and have some so called good teams coming up. Burnley next weekend, followed by Sunderland. I haven’t wet the bed yet, but I’ve just ordered some plastic sheeting just in case Octobers fixtures don’t go our way.

Here’s hoping eBay do returns.

in a results business we are where we are, bottom 3 for a reason. in fact BOTTOM. stats may show many things but the table does not lie. we do NOT SCORE enough goals to win games.
long long road ahead .
as a club we have limited funds unless that changes we will have to do the best we can but cutting out mistakes at the back is a start. and scoring more.

Some of the posts are OTT of course but fans, me included, were expecting us to consolidate this season after the way we finished last season near the top of the form table. A season without relegation fears sprinkled with a few more fun Leeds type games.

Our form hasn’t dropped its plummeted exemplified by the likes of Lucas Andersen. A negative fan reaction is expected and understandable especially after two weeks where seemingly little has happened at the training ground.

If we can develop an attacking style of play to get the best out of Chair, Dembele & Celar we should have enough to stay up.

The lower leagues are full of clubs that went down and definitely didn't come straight back up eg Charlton Bolton Swindon Huddersfield Blackpool etc.
Why should we be any different?

Whilst i agree with many of the concerns and acknowledge it's been a surprisingly bad start, its still the same manager, coaching staff and core group of players who produced top 6 form to get us out of trouble last season. Yet to some we're now in the 'worst team ever', 'relegation fodder' & 'down by christmas' category.

We're not 8 points adrift with a team / manager who have no reference point of picking up points.

I don’t see any signs of a 'lost dressing room' or the toxicity we experienced under Ainsworth - not yet, at least.

This is the Championship, unpredictable & unforgiving. In any given season, the bottom half typically consists of 12 average teams, all capable of winning or losing on any given day. Most teams are more or less on the same level, separated by confidence, momentum, and the odd game-winning player. We're no different, as we showed last season.

That said, it’s clear that we’re in for another battle. So yes, we need to buck up, swallow some pride, and start doing what the manager and most of the players have already shown they can do.

Minimise errors, finish some chances, and watch us slowly stagger to the much-cherished promised land of mid-table obscurity.

In a word - yes I do.

There is plenty of talent in that squad - more than enough to get us out of the mire we find ourselves in. What it dors need is a few more people willing to take responsibility, particularly in midfield, as others have said.

Let's not forget this time last year we had Blackburn sticking four past at home in a performance that could easily have yielded twice as many in their favour. That wasn't the case yesterday.
