Sheffield United v Swansea City : Match day thread WEDS on 21:57 - Oct 2 with 1963 views | RhonddaSwans | Vip done something in the last game that gives me hope. He caught the ball with his body that was smart + the one two with Ronald. (In the derby) Don’t write him off just yet he did cost his side 3 mil. I hope your post ages badly. But yes we are looking at a squad that could push for the top 6 this season. The sides that come down this year are not as strong as other years. Look at Luton 😮 Burnley without Vincent Sheffield U are still the losers that they were last year. We had scored in the first half we would have smashed them. Josh was unlucky . Josh If you are reading this don’t worry YJB! You will make it up to us this season [Post edited 2 Oct 21:59]

Sheffield United v Swansea City : Match day thread WEDS on 21:59 - Oct 2 with 1927 views | union_jack | I really thought Pompy would have made a better fist of things given how long they’ve been away from the Championship. Good result on Saturday but thumped tonight. As you say, Saturday will be interesting now.

Sheffield United v Swansea City : Match day thread WEDS on 22:00 - Oct 2 with 1922 views | RichardO | If we had a quick striker running off the shoulder he would be old and grey before he had a forward pass to him. This is about taking a chance to play a quick forward pass we are prepared to be brave in the defensive half and not prepared to be brave to get the ball forward quickly. We are playing well in a defensive capacity except when we try to be brave too often at the back with the opposition waiting to pick us off, how many times did we see Cabango clearing up the park from deep but by that time the opposition are back in their defensive shape where as an accurate first time clearance would be a far better option and more chances to create goal opportunities. Sheffield United v Swansea City : Match day thread WEDS on 22:08 - Oct 2 with 1842 views | union_jack | That was certainly one aspect of the game I liked from us. For once, we kept pressing til the end. Usually we are faffing around the back doing an impersonation of the Chuckle Brothers even though we are losing.

Sheffield United v Swansea City : Match day thread WEDS on 22:09 - Oct 2 with 1836 views | swan65split | TBH I expected a defeat tonight, but overall the boys did well, had some luck , and missed some luck, if only before the start of the season we thought we would need a goal scoring striker huh? who would have thought it! kick up the rectum needed for one or 2 players though. no need to name them I am sure they know themselves who I mean.
Sheffield United v Swansea City : Match day thread WEDS on 22:14 - Oct 2 with 1798 views | Fireboy2 | Still effed about with the ball, reluctant to stick it in the box, we don't have the quality to break good defensive sides like sheff utd down.
Sheffield United v Swansea City : Match day thread WEDS on 22:50 - Oct 2 with 1650 views | lifelong | That ball to the far post late on, any centre forward worth his salt would have buried it.

Sheffield United v Swansea City : Match day thread WEDS on 07:09 - Oct 3 with 1370 views | RichardO | We have seen the likes of Cullen, Yates, Vipotnik and Pearl-Harris all not take chances or even not get into better positions to capitalise on the ball into the box getting across the first defender for crosses , we have seen us let us get in positions where better finishing by the opposition would have seen us down more than just the one goal, we are riding our luck, Vigouroux has made some noteable saves. We have been getting a large amount of possession but we are not prepared to trust the fact that we have good players and should use them to dominate in games instead of inviting pressure and only playing ball into the box as we finally create a sense of urgency within the box as we realise we have to score to get at least some points out of games. Away from home is always hard but our forward are feeding on scraps the unwillingness to get the ball forward when good opportunities arrive is making it hard to watch, excuses that we don't have the players, we need this player or that player just doesn't wash we have a squad of players who have different attributes and we must be prepared to play in a way that suit them,we have seen what happens when we use the right tactics and also seen what happens when we don't.

Sheffield United v Swansea City : Match day thread WEDS on 09:12 - Oct 3 with 1183 views | onehunglow | Nah Paulo Sousa was very acceptable and he left us too early . Rodgers,Laudrup ,Guidolin all acceptable to me . Do you find Williams acceptable Is he one you have confidence in to improve players technically Is he one you believe deploys the most appropriate tactics and game Is his game management sound [Post edited 3 Oct 9:13]

Sheffield United v Swansea City : Match day thread WEDS on 09:35 - Oct 3 with 1139 views | Whiterockin | Personally I think it is to early to judge Williams. We have only lost away to teams in the top 7 and then by the odd goal. We made the stupid decision of loaning out forwards without getting cover in, resulting in playing a midfielder up front last night who originally didn't even want to join us. It all depends if you are a glass half full or empty person. I prefer to see the positives, nobody is beating us by more than the odd goal, the new players are starting to look fitter, our keeper is getting better with every game through excellent coaching. As I say I would prefer to wait and see how it goes before deciding if he is good or bad, after all the last two much criticised coaches we had took their teams up when they left us. One after two play offs and the last one narrowly missing the play offs. We pay our coaching staff very poorly in comparison to the rest of the Championship and many coaches turned us down, sometimes we need to be thankful for what we have.
Sheffield United v Swansea City : Match day thread WEDS on 11:08 - Oct 3 with 1025 views | onehunglow | Class reply. Thanks I d rather be realistic and honest as I see things as they are as of now. I’m never sure as to what positive or negative San in the context of sport . Never being satisfied is part and parcel of great managers who never dwell on past successes and only look for more glory. I am never satisfied really ,as regards sport at which my team participates . You should read my corrosive and brutally honest Wales rugby classics . The WRU…now there is an entity to engender full scale contempt . Anyway, the sun is shining here so I’m out of here

Sheffield United v Swansea City : Match day thread on 11:25 - Oct 3 with 987 views | QJumpingJack | I think we will do well against clubs placed 8th-24th. I feel we are a long way off from challenging the Top 6-8 and there is every chance we could get a thrashing against some of the stronger teams at the top. One has to question the planning and recruitment. Why is the squad so thin? and why don't we have options in terms of strikers?
Sheffield United v Swansea City : Match day thread WEDS on 11:28 - Oct 3 with 985 views | union_jack | I’m a bit dubious as to how good a coach or more importantly a tactician LW is. I see very little in terms of training ground moves either in open play or set pieces. Our attacking tactics seem to come straight out of the instruction book of Snakes and Ladders. We have to inch our way up the pitch, box by box, right then left hoping not to land on a snake! Corners and free kicks have no originality to them. Just lump it in and hope for the best. Other sides have little moves that they play to mix things up. Not us! That said, last night was not a bad display but we have to be honest, it was helped by SU not on their game passing wise or finishing. It could and should have been more. [Post edited 3 Oct 12:12]

Sheffield United v Swansea City : Match day thread WEDS on 12:21 - Oct 3 with 890 views | onehunglow | Surely,a coach,by definition ,encourages, develops and implements skills of his players . He then selects the tactics,so when Grimes ,omni present,is strolling around the field eschewing any obvious ball into the box, we can assume Williams sees this as somehow part of his plan . Grimes took to corners recently both of which failed to clear the first defender . His shooting is non existent ,his final ball appalling ,YET he is is never “ rested” . It is quite incredible ,almost as incredible as our steam seemingly being able to operate through Grimes . Everything goes through him for his stamp of approval . He is 1soluteky the reason why our attacks peta out and why our VIP is so forlorn. I might be on my own here when I say the very first player I’d have moved on is this chap. Giving him a lucrative four year contract was beyond dumb . I’m not surprised he’s happy in Swansea as few other clubs fans would put up with his endless dross ,as that is what it is . Me@while,we have a young blood in the Generalissimo who is a real warrior and one who can and wants to tackle ,go forward and get stuck in . He is benched .Why does he need “ resting” before Vrines who has played every game . Fin
