Avoidable goals stat 09:08 - Sep 22 with 7162 views442Dale

There isn’t one. So in the absence of that, some examples of clubs everywhere not adhering to the old mantra of “get rid” when under pressure. Feel free to add as the season goes on.

As well as Mitchell’s goal yesterday, here’s one from Huddersfield v Northampton:

Nothing will change in the short term, but there will come a day when the game will realise how much it’s impacting success.

The best and fastest way to stop the tippy tappy stuff is to introduce a new points system in all league competitions.

Group stages in World Cups etc would become so much more interesting too.

0 points for a loss
1 Point for a draw
2 Points for a win by one goal
3 Points for a win by two goals
4 points for a win by three goals and so on...

A system like this would ensure teams go out for goals, thus creating a more attacking environment for teams.
No more playing for draw it might not be enough if your challenger gets more goals and points. No more hanging onto to a win - see above.

Goals win games yes but more goals means more points and bigger rewards.

Putting himself in the shop window, thats the purpose of that interview. He conveniently failed to mention that his tactics relegated us with a very good squad of players and he oversaw the worst run of home results in the clubs history. His X and possession stats will have been great though..McNulty needs to digest this, that's why none of us are interested in his football speak, the league table didn't lie for BBM, another rookie manager who didn't look..apparently.

I suspect that JM, reading this, will take the opposite view. It can be read two ways but he'll put himself in the position of the Bristol City manager, except that he's working with players who are nowhere near Championship standard

There lies the idiocy

Definitely putting himself in the shop window. He did a piece with the Daily Mail a couple of weeks ago as well (behind a paywall unfortunately):

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

1pm Saturday 28th...

Two in one minute..

Hudderfield away to Reading and Hudds are 1-0 up... shocking defending (not clearing lines) gifts Reading a goal and its now 1-1.

Even worse Harrogate 2-0 at home v Bradford... Now thats when your looking to be hell bent NOT to p**s around at the back and gift Andy Cook a chance thats self inflicted - gift wrapped with a bow on it... Cook says thank you and from a comfortable 2-0 its now an uncomfortable 2-1 and Bradford given a really easy way back into the game.
