Anybody have an aquarium?

Got an aquarium last week so aquarium been up and running for a week. Bought 7 lampeyes today? With some plants etc. All but 1 have died. Done All the tests, ph nitrate and ammonia and readings are all within the correct range.
Any ideas on what's wrong?

Siamese fighting fish are nice additions to a community fish tank, but you can only have one pair, two males will fight to the death.

If you are adding angel fish, get small ones as the bigger ones tend to nip the tails off other fish, a couple of cardinal tetras also add to the colour (I prefer these to neon tetras).

Couple of cat fish and Coolie loach are bottom feeders that will help to keep the bottom clean.
