OK, got home 10 mins ago and would like to point something out...the penalty claim, there was lots of pushing and shoving and maybe the ref gave Cabango the benefit of the doubt BUT out on the wing, the player who crossed the ball, he clearly handled it before he crossed it so it being given would have been harsh.
Everybody did well today, Cooper and Cullen ran their socks off and if at times the tempo dropped and we slackened well lets be fair, we had been on top for ages and had worked extremely hard, a bit of a slack period was to be expected.
It was the best 90 minutes I've seen, we beat Preston more convincingly but Coventry are a better team, in my opinion anyway, and what happened today took a lot of hard work and some very good football. | | | |

Coventry always great day out, not too long a journey. Bus stopped a couple hours in Bromsgrove where most of the regulars piled into the Wetherspoons. Great football first half reminiscent of the better days, and a battling second half. At the end of the game every player deserved the applause and love from the fans.

We have more than a potential goal scorer on the bench who didn’t even make it on to the pitch yesterday. All because Williams tactics including the pedestrian midfield can’t provide quick enough forward ball for him. I’m amazed how some can write off a player considered good enough to play in the Euros after a manager with no tactical nous can’t be bothered to get the team playing to his (and Eom’s , Ronald’s and any other attacking players) strengths.
Perhaps with that approach we would kill teams off rather than settling for 60 minutes of biting nails. All of our players need to introduce a ruthlessness into their game. | | | |

Very few if any people have written Vipotnik off. He’s drastically unfit though. I’m stunned anyone who has seen his cameos for us can’t see that. Until he’s physically capable of playing his role properly, we’re going to be looking at Cullen until he tires then a patch job like playing Cooper or Peart-Harris there nominally. To me, that’s very likely the weakest strike force in the division.
In the games he’s played, the quick forward ball would be useless because he doesn’t make runs.
I’ll judge Viootnik as a player when he’s 100%, but I’ll admit I’m frustrated at how long it’s taking him to get there.
I don’t think Williams is getting enough credit from certain quarters. When he doesn’t have the fire power, the best thing he can do is make us hard to break down. | | | |

Agreed. Our forwards have to be able to close down when we don't have the ball. Failure to do this renders the work done by the other players pointless, the opposition can just play their way out. Vipotnik is nowhere near fit enough to do this or fit enough to make runs after 15 minutes on the pitch. Whether he can get fit enough we will just have to wait and see, he has potential but what he has displayed on the pitch so far is just not good enough. | | | |

In fairness, he does do this. Problem is he does it a couple of times and he’s panting. Then he just physically can’t do it. I haven’t seen him make runs in an attacking sense, he’s just static.
What I like about Williams is he’s just got on with it. Played good football at times, but the majority of the last two games was grinding out results with the players he had. I’d expect similar next Sunday. Can you imagine Martins reaction if he was left with one fit striker? Or Coopers? | | | |
