Pontardawe Musuc Festival on 10:03 - Aug 17 with 1319 views | KeithHaynes | How very dare you. I’ll have you know all these talented artists that the public are told to like by people who control the tv never lip sync or have backing tracks. Well, that’s what my daughter used to tell me when she was seven. God knows why but a friend went to our local music fest two weeks back, he is a very good musician. Take That we’re on the bill. People were loving the LIVE sound of the band. Not that they could point anyone to where the saxophone was, trumpets and extra guitars. But a great LIVE band.

Pontardawe Musuc Festival on 10:43 - Aug 17 with 1259 views | AnotherJohn | Used to go regularly years ago, camping in the festival field for the weekend. Gradually the emphasis shifted more from folk to "world music" , which was less to my taste, and I then moved away for 12 years and somehow lost enthusiasm to attend when I got back (older I suppose). Swansea seemed to have a more active folk music scene years ago. Does anybody remember the weekly gathering at the White Swan in High St (otherwise a favorite police pub) and the night at the Brit in Llanmadoc? After I moved away I think that shifted to the Greyhound (which I think is closed now). I've been to a couple pf "open mic" nights at the Waterloo Stores and Sundays at the Railway Inn, but these aren't as good as the White Swan was.

Pontardawe Musuc Festival on 15:59 - Aug 17 with 1100 views | max936 | Greyhound is long gone, the Brit is just a nightmare to get to through those lanes, although the lane past the Oldwalls bungalow ain't to bad and its a bus route, but its still not that great.
