New striker incoming? 12:53 - Jun 29 with 5089 viewsHoopsie

Dykes injured, so probably out for the start of the season

Kerman loan to Orient for a year

So only Frey and Armstrong as recognised strikers

Just thinking is it not implausible a new striker incoming?

I'm pretty sure a new striker will be signed this summer, but Dykes is fit to train and will be ready for the start of the season.

Frey has had his joints oiled and been through a full service. Ready to dominate the league.

Frey looks in good shape in the early training photos. Time will tell.

What was the point in giving Kelman another year and then him spending it out on loan, just release him

Unlikely perhaps but he could score loads at Orient this season and become valuable. He is only 22.

Seen some stories of this striker being a possibility.

He is well out of his depth and is stealing a living off the club.

Least we are saving on his wages for another year I guess.

Seems as though Marti and/or Noury don't agree with you.

Kelman going for another season to Orient is just plain odd. I'd love someone to explain to me why we haven't let him go?

Never knowingly right.

The only way I can understand it is they still think he can develop into a useful player for us. So, arrange a decent L1 loan so he's costing us little or nothing, extend his contract for another year and if he performs really well we could have a player. If not, release him.

Hmmm marti played him once and he has now been sent out twice.

Failed at wigan there fans didn't want him back.

This loan deal screams we tried to sell him but no one wants to buy him.

Maybe it's because strikers are in short supply? Good or bad.

Thought I saw Kolli or atleast the back of his head in one of the pictures of training yesterday. Via le option if he’s fit again ?

They'll need to repair the rip in the space-time continuum that allows for his limbs to move as much as they do whilst he remains stationary

Of course, we have no idea if Kelman's new deal includes an option for another year.

Kolli is more a 10 or LM than a striker.

Kelman

- loan with option to sell?

- loan out cost nothing then release if no good?

- loan with hope that he would turn good?

I think Kelman’s here for 3 years? 26 games 0 goals. When out on loan, he’s not scoring loads (77 apps 12 goals in league matches) and not showing us yet there is a player in him (unlike Chair for Stevenage, Eze for Wycombe, Dieng for Doncaster)

This recruitment seems a failure but with Cifuentes and Nourry they don’t need to hold back (see Dozzell, Kakay). contract extended - another year option? Seen some potential?

Dieng’s Doncaster loan was his 5th with us before he made his breakthrough. So there is yet a chance for kelman to finally show his worth. This is his 5th loan out. It must be his final year, watershed or wash out.

not really, because we gave him a new bloody contract! we could have let him go for a free this summer. F knows why we didn't.

I doubt we'll be signing a striker unless someone leaves. We have 3 competing for one position, we can't afford to have 4 I'm afraid.

Bare bones.

Have we signed Frey???
Maybe that’s your reference to 3-in-1 as we’ll need a hell of a lot of oil for his joints.
I actually think he’s got a bit about him (as long as we don’t expect pace)

Dykes is out medium term surely?
Such a shame as I think even featuring at the Euros may well have seen him move on for a couple of mill.

Sincs will hopefully kick on but I’d say jury very much out.
Can he bag 8 to 12 goals? Not sure

Kolli must surely be seen as a 10, Smyth a winger and Kelman the non scoring goal machine gone for the season.
Leaves a paucity of options no? Almost Ainsworth-esque going into a fresh season

If we don’t sign this Brazilian then I’d expect a Prem prospect on loan around August

Frey was signed on a perm, probably to 2025.

Dykes is fit to train and will be ready for the start of the season.

I think we will sell or loan out one of the three and sign a new striker.

If his wages are really low, then we might be making a profit on the loan deal. Works for the likes of Orient because they don’t have to shell out money on a transfer, agent etc fee. If it works well they might end up with him for free

New striker incoming? on 09:52 - Jun 30 with 2176 viewsfrancisbowles

I don't think so. He had no sale value as he was out of contract. So there is no way that we wanted to/could have sold him.

We had a choice write off our investment in time, effort and money, so far. Alternatively, give him another year, at minimal cost, to see if the potential that was first spotted and recognised by various figures at the club, can be realised.
