Driving to Sunderland 20:28 - Mar 10 with 3543 viewsPeterHucker

Evening.
Every previous time I've been to Sunderland, I've gone by train.
But next week I'm driving.
Anyone got any good parking tips?

The A183 leading up to the beach has a tonne of street parking as you get towards the sea, and there are decent pubs round there too. Easily walkable into the ground from there. That’s what we did last year.

Hopefully it’s not as foggy as it was last season , we turned off the motorway and went straight into a fog bank for a few miles

Check out the football ground guide for parking tips.
I used to live in Pelaw and there is a big car park by the metro station at Haworth and it’s only a few stops in from there.

Haworth is lovely, the Moors, the cobbled streets, the Bronte Museum; Heworth on the other hand, although handy for the Metro...

Sorry Stow, no typo goes unpunished!

PS They drive past my old house in Newcastle in that video Paddox posted.

Drove up under rednob and was sooooo long especially on my own. Get plenty of rest before and on way back for 30 mins or so. Parked in a multi story by the bridge was a 10 min walk max

Poll: Now it’s slightly clearer cut who do you want as manager ?

You one of the few for that night game? Me and the young master Boston was there, as was Stowmarket, and Matt Doran, Joe Le'Taxi...

Was there as well. 0-0 if I remember right my, then a couple of years later for Ramsey’s first game, won 2-0. Ground emptied at half time. Great goal by Zamora. But what a drive back. Freezing fog patches along the A1 made life very interesting.

Poll: Where will Clive put QPR in his new season preview
