Rochdale AFC is pleased to announce that World Soccer Holdings LLC have today signed a Letter of Intent to purchase Rochdale AFC.

The deal is subject to Shareholder approval of the resolutions to create shares at the EGM on the 7th March 2024.

Rochdale AFC Chairman Simon Gauge stated: "We are delighted to receive the LOI from World Soccer Holdings.

"Investment in the club is essential for our survival, and WSH tick so many of the boxes that we have been looking for in an investor.

"They have a track record in sporting investments and have a long-term sporting plan for the club and come with expertise in the field.

"We look forward to engaging with them, shareholders, local politicians, and suppliers to meet the conditions that are required to conclude the sale of the club."

World Soccer Holdings CEO Scott Dyer said: "We are really pleased to be moving forward with investment in Rochdale AFC.

"We have great respect and admiration for the history and the culture of the club, and we are grateful for the hard work and sacrifices undertaken by both the staff and board and the supporter’s trust to make this partnership possible.

"We look forward to engaging now with the Dale Trust to answer any questions that they may have regarding our investment and with local politicians to gauge the level of support we can expect to receive to support our investment in RAFC.

"We could not let 100 years of history go to waste, and we believe we can work together to elevate The Dale back to its previous heights and beyond.

"We look forward to visiting Rochdale for the game on the 9th March against Oxford City."

Good news and could not be clearer what is being voted for on 7th March.

They own a stake in MVV Maastricht.

It looks like they nearly bought into ADO Den Haag before a disagreement with their then owners. Den Haag were eventually bought by the folk who own Crystal Palace and loads of other clubs.

On first glance it does look promising. Certainly a world above some clowns who wants to build Crossroads Motel off Sandy Lane.

Not much on this company but managed to find a bit on the opencorprates website in the US and it is:
26/4/21 - certificate of formation
21/6/22 - change of registered agent/office
31/12/22 -public information report

Unable to find out the monetary data just yet, will keep digging.

Scott Dyer seems to be the main man for the media stuff so far, however looks like Bob Heere, PhD - a professor of sports management, is also a shareholder and is the "Dutch Connection". Has some impressive credentials at two decent US universities, and reported that "Dr. Heere's research focuses on the sense of community and social identity fostered by sport around the world". Much more comforting to read than the usual guff about student housing development, luxury car brokering, invisible investment management firms and so on.

https://sportsdegreesonline.org/profile/bob-heere-phd/

The main money man (at least as of last year) was/is Steve Demetriou, CEO/Chairman of Jacobs which is a massive global consulting firm. A well-known sports fan who owns the Erie Bayhawks of the NBA D-League.

Can see where the "strong track record" comments are coming from.

It’s nice to see former players like ROD, Scott Tanser and Joe Bunney going on social media to say how pleased they are with the news.

Sounds like the offertory for the squad-builder won't be needed if the deal goes through?

Hopefully there'll be enough in the tithes to sign Hayes on a permanent!
