New CEO meeting 13:48 - Feb 27 with 21050 views | TK1 | I note from social media a small group of fans saying they were invited to a meeting with CEO Christian Nourry yesterday, subsequently drip-feeding info about it: he's fallen in love with QPR, we might change the pre-match music, he's got the best interests of club at heart, he really cares, etc etc... Has very strong early Paladini vibes to it. Get a few fans onside, privately, tell them what they want to hear, no official club note made of it but message that is required to be spread gets out there. It'll end in tears for all. Fans forums are excruciating, but the only way this kind of communication with fans can work, that and official interviews. I assume there'll be an LFW interview soon, hopefully from this event. But until then every fan at that meet is being played, just as all the season ticket holders not invited are.
New CEO meeting on 12:34 - Feb 28 with 3290 views | YorkRanger | Personally I think its good and proper that he is engaging in this sort of way and I absolutely agree that getting a good cross section of support involved including some of the younger and on line presences is important. we really need to be frying the big fish now but inevitable that sort of session will tease out stuff that we may fell trivial in the grand scheme of things. What he cannot do is control how the output of the session is managed and I guess if that means we then see stuff on Twitter and elsewhere that leaves some of us scrtaching our head then so be it. The demographic of our fan base is wide and we need to grow the younger fan base for the future of the club so we may all need to smile through gritted teeth from time to time.

New CEO meeting on 12:51 - Feb 28 with 3206 views | BrianMcCarthy | He may not have belonged in that list, E15, but Gregory is a case in point when we say that we have to be wary. He tried to merge us out of existence and then he sold us to property developers.

New CEO meeting on 13:05 - Feb 28 with 3137 views | TK1 | Jim Gregory did a great job in the building of the modern club. But do you remember how he left it? Gregory was a life-long and extremely committed Fulham fan whose offer to buy Fulham was turned down twice in the early 60s. The second time he was turned down in 1964, he was so furious that he immediately offered himself to QPR in revenge and then took over QPR in '65. His commitment to QPR was based purely out of scorn and we profited hugely from that, over-taking Fulham comprehensively a decade later. However, he sold QPR out to Marler Estates in full knowledge that their goal was to merge Fulham with QPR to become Fulham Park Rangers (and how long before the Park Rangers dropped off?) and if it wasn't for the fans of both clubs, that wold've come to pass. No CEO rescued us then. So let's remember how he left things, too, eh.
New CEO meeting on 13:20 - Feb 28 with 3052 views | TK1 | Not sure why you don't follow. Once more: I'm saying I want him to be interviewed by journalists beyond the club channels, to have minuted meetings with fans groups and forums as well, and all of that to happen first. I'm against first having un-minuted private chats with anonymous social media channels and "bigger personalities" (who decides that?! There are some very big personalities near me in the R block). I have absolutely no interest in attending any of this myself. I'm also saying experience should make us all very wary of any communication that is not open to all, including those who do not use X or message boards but may go to Rotherham away, and that smooth-talking new football club CEOs who suddenly appear telling everyone they've fallen in love with the club are to be treated with extreme caution. But everyone is entitled to their opinion. Just voicing mine.
New CEO meeting on 13:35 - Feb 28 with 2987 views | slmrstid | I think you've raised some really valid points TK. Interesting discussion this. I'm very much retaining healthy scepticism with Nourry. Anyone who believes the whole "I've fallen in love with the club" thing for somewhere he's been employed for 2 months (and/or extra 6 months or so as a consultant) is absolutely kidding themselves. Hopefully he'll do a good job - I imagine he wants a long career in football so ballsing QPR up isn't going to get that career trajectory going, so hopefully he does lots of things that benefit QPR because it'll end up benefiting Nourry in his goal to be the footballing executive equivalent of Leo Messi (or whatever that conference nonsense said) but lets not get all dewy eyed over him.

New CEO meeting on 13:47 - Feb 28 with 2899 views | derbyhoop | Nobody should expect a detailed set of minutes but, just unlike the hiding of contract lengths, is is beholden on the club to communicate with the supporters. I wouldn't expect any CEO to reveal commercially sensitive information but a summary wouldn't hurt

New CEO meeting on 14:02 - Feb 28 with 2839 views | Rangersw12 | What did he say about the contracts ? Are they going to be published going forward or did he double down on it . Imo if a CEO wants communication with the fans then a start would be a survey to all ST / members which is surely better than a select group of fans . Also if there isn't any minutes of the meeting all it will do is create a divide and ask further questions however the good intentions

New CEO meeting on 19:17 - Feb 28 with 2339 views | Hedged | In my opinion it’s too early to give much more detail than what’s already been shared and realistically they aren't going to share anything of note besides the obvious things like for the club to be sustainable, meet FFP, sign players that fit in with the recruitment teams data. Sell them to reinvest and grow Anything of note said by Nourry yesterday won't be a secret but actually it's clear from what's been shared of this not very secret meeting the purpose of this meeting was to canvass opinions of the fan base and you know yourself this was the right group of fans to do that with. Seems you want him to go all Bernie and Flávio and set out a 4 year plan promise to pillar him with if not achieved or do a Fernandes and say he’s taking that to the Champions League so he looks daft. That does no one any good Some pretty out there statements from you talking about owners in the past who tried to merge us with Fulham. That's not happening here and I'll tell you now even if it was, he's not going to do an interview with a journalist and go "oh dam you got me, yeah I've got a secret fan to merge the club with another team and flip the stadium to some flats". There's not a chance he will have been given a remit like that from Ruben or Amit and no suggestion he wants that anyway. Bit of patience, nothing major is going to be announced in the middle of a relegation battle Also reckon it’s likely we will appear on a podcast soon now the ice has been broken. But doubt much of detail will be shared there that we don’t already know [Post edited 28 Feb 19:19]

New CEO meeting on 19:35 - Feb 28 with 2291 views | Dorse | Frankly, as long as he doesn't turn up in a shiny suit with waxed eyebrows and foundation, using terms like synergy, move the needle, growth hacking, blue sky, circle back, giving 110, value alignment and the ever-green getting your ducks on a row, like some kind of fart-sucker off The Apprentice, I reckon we'll be alright.

New CEO meeting on 19:52 - Feb 28 with 2256 views | numptydumpty | To be fair as he has met up with all the podcasts, fans forum honchos etc and listened as opposed to saying how it will be. That for me is a good start but he doesn't need to involve fans and the like in all decisions made and the requirements to be completely transparent would be massively counter productive in my opinion. Obviously has a business background and also clearly football is unlike any other business but as fans all we care about is improved and entertafootball on the field of play. That's all, we all care about. The way they go about this, if as I am sure they already do, they have a plan going forwards and we have to trust the process as the decisions they make will be totally based on this goal. Successful and entertaining football allied with an increasingly positive financial position. If they choose not to disclose this, I am fine with that approach. Not disclosing contract lengths if this mean other clubs don't try to rip us off in deal negotiating, that's absolutely fine. Why should we know and then clubs seeing exactly what they are dealing with discussed immaterial on here about exact information would be counter productive in transfer negotiations. If the vendor doesn't have an inkling as to the negotiating buyer of the potential buyer, the advantage would all be in the buyers court. So can see that being a clever way to get the best deal for our club. He can read up all he wants on fans views from various Internet sources, everything is easily accessible but if you listen to too many people's views and try to appease all, it leads to weak management and weak control of outcomes. Just because football has the added extra of emotion attached doesn't mean the business has to be run all based on appeasing fans often very fluctuating ideas. Would be delighted if they have strong ideas already of how they want to move forwards and also am sure they have analysed our many different and very often haphazard ways forward. We need them to be positive in what and how they are going to achieve success for the football club and sustainability going forwards and they have to stick to their plan. Whether we know very little or all that we need to, as long as all ways of doing things are to reach our desired goal, QPR winning more, fans enjoying the experience and the club becoming more and more stable, then for me they don't need reveal sod all if that means our success. I think myself this is all going in the right direction and am hopeful that the powers that be know exactly their plan.

New CEO meeting on 19:54 - Feb 28 with 2248 views | Philothesuperhoop | Clive, can I ask a really banal question? Have we ever discovered his true age? Having met him, do you think that he really is 26? And did you get any impression whether Lee Hoos is still pulling the financial strings in the background?
New CEO meeting on 20:33 - Feb 28 with 2143 views | GaryBannister86 | He is definitely 26/27 - he left his school (St Paul's) in 2015.

New CEO meeting on 08:47 - Feb 29 with 1720 views | Northernr | Yeh that's his age. And no I think it's very much him now running the show as a football focused CEO with a bigger role for the head of recruitment, rather than the previous CEO-DOF model.
New CEO meeting on 08:51 - Feb 29 with 1710 views | Northernr | I don't disagree mate, but not my decision. He's meeting the supporters consultation committee in a couple of weeks at one of their meetings and that will be minuted. On the contract thing, again it was more us putting our concerns about it. He explained a bit of the reasoning around it - we need to improve our player trading to help our FFP situation, any advantage we can gain in that should be taken - I explained my problems with it. He didn't commit one way or the other but he said he'd go away and think about it some more in the context of what I'd said, so we'll find out in the summer what he's decided I guess.
New CEO meeting on 08:52 - Feb 29 with 1693 views | Northernr | More that.
New CEO meeting on 08:57 - Feb 29 with 1672 views | JamesB1979 | Really good post. But I would say that I don’t really care whether he likes QPR or us. If his remit is to make us as a club better and more successful, then we just want him to be good at his job. If he does a good job, we will be a better club, win more games, develop players, make a profit (or is it a “sustainable loss” to meet our aims) and ultimately we’ll all be more happy because we want our club to be successful. Completely agree on how they should have organised this and the questions that could have been asked etc.
New CEO meeting on 10:23 - Feb 29 with 1519 views | numptydumpty | I totally get Nourry's reasoning around not releasing contract lengths information Clive and it giving us an advantage in the transfer windows. Think in a small way that's already been proved positive by the business they have managed to do this window. Not sure why yourself and others on here, need everything to be completely transparent. If the tactic works and prevents all and sundry criticising the club on forums and social media and our transfer trading is improved, what would be the reasoning to announce contract lengths etc ??? If the strategy works and helps in transfer trading, ie potential suitors for players are unaware of players current contract positions, why would we need to know ??? Watch this space, I guess. New CEO meeting on 10:31 - Feb 29 with 1498 views | Northernr | I literally couldn't disagree any more with you, so I'm not sure there's a lot of point in getting into it. It gives you zero advantage. If Leeds want to know how long Sinclair Armstrong's contract is for they'll ask his agent, they don't get that information from the QPR official website. I cannot believe after what the owners of our club did, and tried to do to it, through the 80s, 90s, 00s and more recently - mergers with other clubs, failed attempts to sell off the stadium, successful attempts to strip it from its training ground for personal profit, financial mismanagement leading to administration, gross incompetence leading us to where we are now - that the answer to that is we want less transparency, less of a say and less input. Look at what ownership has done at places like Sheff Wed, Reading, Derby, Oldham, Wigan etc. But, sure, let's just let them crack on completely unchecked, do what you want, we don't even want to know about it, don't tell us anything, we trust you. Masochistic. The deals that the people running our club have done over the last three years around recruitment, retention and contracts have driven us to the brink of League One. We have mishandled the contracts of talented players like Samuel, Manning and Austin. We have handed out insane contracts to the likes of Adomah, Johansen, Hamalainen. This is why we're in the mess we're in. The people who made those decisions have all walked away from them - Ferdinand, Hoos, Fernandes, Bhatia, these people won't be going to Stockport with us next season. The fans have taken all of this in remarkable good humour, turning up in record numbers with barely a word of dissent. And the answer is please continue to do these deals, but tell us even less about them? Sorry, not for me Clive.

New CEO meeting on 10:34 - Feb 29 with 1491 views | daveB | What advantage does it give us? Lets say a buying club has no idea how long Dykes has left on his deal and offers us 1 million for him. If he has 4 years left you say no the price is 4 million, if he has 1 year left you probably say yes. Them knowing may impact the opening bid in trying to get a player cheaper but you just say no this is the price and they either improve their offer or don't The buying club if they wanted to know how long Dykes has left could ring his agent anyway and find out For me all this stuff should be made public, it's a really weird thing to keep secretive.
New CEO meeting on 11:12 - Feb 29 with 1384 views | BrianMcCarthy | Agreed. It's also a PR problem in waiting. 2024 - Player X has another year on his contract??? Cue fan explosion. 2025 - Player X has ANOTHER year on his contract??? Cue another fan explosion. It's needless, and not very clever.
